sold it finally
Well as of 8:30 tonight, the GTA is officially sold to a good new home. She is going to be gutted and have all her goodies put into the buyer's '85 T/A convertable
And tomarrow I am picking up my '96 Ranger! I will have to get used to getting 30 mpg
But don't worry, I will get another 3rd gen soon.
And I will direct the buyer to TGO so he can introduce himself and whatnot. He's a good guy.

Well then what do you recommend for a light truck? An s10? HA, those are piles- I know of 5 friends with them, and every one is gradually falling to pieces. My B2 is basically a Ranger and that thing never failed to surprise me how dependable it could be. It's a 4cyl, 5spd '96 with 59k miles on it, and was previously owned by an old man who used it as his daily driver.
I don't know anybody who has had a problem with theirs. But what do you guys recommend instead as a pickup? Keep in mind I only have around $3500-$4000 to spend.

my dad had a 92 S-10 4.3 that he bought new, and sold in 01 or 02 for his blazer, had like 130k on it.. not 1 problem. just reg maintence and it was fine. i also had another friend with a 92 with the 2.8, and besides some delightful latino hitting/totalling his truck it to never had any problems. its when u get young idiots behind the wheel of (any) car that they think is a corvette is when feces starts breaking all the time.

Well I'm still open for other trucks. I thought Toyota's were a lot more expensive than they are.
Synapsis- Your not selling yours right? Thats just what you paid for it?
Anybody personally know of any trucks for sale in the $3500 range?

Yes, if you want a pickup, go Toyota. Those things are cheap, you can beat the living snot out of them and they will still run, and they are really easy to fix. I had a 84' Bronco II (just like yours) and that thing was the BIGGEST POS to ever touch pavement. But yeah, you can get an old reliable Toyota clunker for a grand or two, get 25+ MPG, and don't have to worry about spending your life savings to fix it (*cough* MY CAR *cough*)
