Hmmm. I can't remember how I drained it...maybe I shouldn't of responded...LOL... Have you tried a search as to how to do it? I know there are several threads that would explain how to drain it. I'm just gonna shut up now.
drop it with the gas that's in there... it's not too hard. I ***WATCHED*** Joe do it in like 15 minutes but that was with the rear end dropped. You don't have to drop the rear to do it but it's much easier. The main thing is to get the rear of the car as high as possible.

ur best thing 2 do is lift up the rear carpet, cut a hole over where the fuel pump goes, and make a"flap" so in the future, when u WILL have 2 do it again, its a 30 mins job.. not a drop the rear end or cut the exhaust job.

That being the "best thing" is all opinion. And before the post goes anymore in the wrong direction, read what happened the last time this came up.

It's not hard, just time consuming.

but yeah, I say do it the right way, going in from underneath, cuz "saving" yourself the time by cutting the top will end up taking you twice as much time to do it "right" (meaning get a proper cover for the hole and make it professional) so yeah, in the long run it won't do you any good really.

i guess. all i know is everyone i know who has done it via going thru the top, when a fuel pump goes out, its a snap 2 change them out. u dont have 2 get under the car, cut anything up, drop anything, just lift up, take out, and drop in. but hey...
mines a vert, if i wash it i comprimise structural integrity... i dont think ill be cutting any holes in it... The two things ive learned while working on this thing are "anything worth doing, is worth doing right... the 1st time!" and "shortcuts have side effects that usually make the trip longer..." thx for that other post

oh no, that was swapping rearends... but im not even going to mess around with rigging anything up, im gunna drop the whole exhaust (ive got headers to put on anyways...) drop the rearend ( i need to fix my springs) so, im doing it the long and SAFE and tediously easy way... no cuttin holes, no choppin off crap.. just a clean teardown and rebuild pretty much...

Unless you slide the muffler off the pipe and swing the pipe out of the way. Need a torch though to heat the muffler uo get it off.

No you do not. All you have to do is disconnect it. My old setup was welded up solid. All I did was disconnect it from the manifolds and then removed the panhard bar and shocks. After letting the rear end hang, the exhaust will drop. From there you can use the muffler as a head rest and have plenty of room to remove the tank. You just need to get the rear of the car off the ground far enough.
or unless i drop off the rearend 1st and then the whole exhaust... i have to re-do the pinion seal on the rear anyways. im takin the whole shabang off. Also im more than likely gunna pull the motor apart and do the cam/head swap as well... its gunna be a week or two of nonstop work on the camaro, then it will run worse than before until i get it tuned!!! hahaha, the joys of thirdgens..

It's like looking at Goatse, but for cars.
The rear was only held up by the driveshaft and a jack, so it shifted a little to the left. That's why it looks odd.

that and one of them was a decently modified TPI with a T5 and a performance rear... its all in the tune though... whats worse is if i get all my mods on, my car will probably barely run cuz the tune will be so off... haha. I dont care if i gotta push it, ill be there.
