Update on the Trans Am!!!!!

Well they found it. Parked on the side of the rode at 152 Ave and Van Buren. Have not seen it yet but I know the column is busted up. I'll post some pics when I get out to see it.

I got to see the car today and the news is not good. Outside it looks fine. Inside the column is torn up, as expected. There is also some trim that is busted up around the driver door. That may be from breaking into the car. The real problem is the engine. The guy at the storage yard started it up and it knocked real, real bad. Sounds like they over revved the engine while they were out joyriding. This may not be good.

It is at my mechanics shop now and the insureance adjuster will probably take a look at it tomorrow.

Just talked to my mechanic. It's going to need a new engine. The old one is toast.

I suprised that it was found. That sucks about the engine, I thought automatics would have a rev limiter or something. I had a 92 chevy pu stolen back in 92 they found it in a field in Mesa with a stepping stone on the accelerator and the truck was out of gas

no engine problems where found though.

Well I say over revved but I don't really know what they did to it. But it is toast.

Bill,

Buy the thing back from insurance when they're done totalling it and part that bitch out. You'll make more than the car was worth when it was running.

on a side note... I'd like to know what the hell happened to my car?

I don't have time for that. I have not interest in it. My mechanic told me to tell the insurance company he will by it from them. He can have it.

Just heard from the insurance company again today. They are still going to write it off. I will be signing the car over to them on Tuesday and picking up a check on Wednesday.

Hasta la vista Trans Am.

And the camaro will probably be going to a new home. I think I have a surprise buyer for it.

I will be getting out of thirdgens for a while. While someone else will be getting back in!!
