13s

Got em on friday, I have to find the slip and post up the whole thing but it was a 13.97 at around 102 mph. I was kinda frustrated because the best I could put down on motor was a 15.13 or so, couldn't even get into the 14's . Clutch is slipping pretty bad, but I think I just suck at driving in general . I've knocked out a few 104 mph passes and I pulled out more timing this time, so I think if I bump it up just a little I might gain that 2 mph back and get a little deeper into "slightly fast car" territory.

Congrats Tony. Your where I could never get to. I'd like to be running a mid to high 14 on just the motor. If I had chosen the proper cam I could probably get there. But it's not to be. I will shortly be getting out of the third gen business.

All ready have a buyer. I just don't have the time to put in it any more. And having it as my toy is detracting me from getting a corvette. I have wanted one of those for years.

Dude, That Rocks!!!

I am heading out to Firebird Friday to see what this new motor I just finished can do myself......13's would be nice but the last motor I had pulled me into a 14.98 so anything better than that would be sick.....Little worried about traction though....On the street I burn the tires all the way thru 1st and that is from a 20 MPH roll.....I can only imagine a clutch dump.....

Man I hope the track will hold traction better than the street....

Yeah good to see you out there man, that Stang amazes me every time. Traction at the track is much better than on the street, but it varies from time to time. The best (stickiest) time is during national time trials or right after nats.

Honestly I haven't seen anybody with TBI go faster in Phoenix. JR when he had his 305 had Torquer heads and ZZ4 cam and he only went low 15's N/A, I can't remember if he ever sprayed or not. I'm not going to put any more money into the engine as it will be replaced eventually, but I will say that the transmission is hard to shift and the clutch is slipping rediculously. The best 60' I could cut was like a 2.13 which isn't good and I'm not sure why it won't launch better, I'm thinking it needs more timing down low, fuel side is dialed in fine.

*Edit* This is Tony posting on Justin's account, sorry

I see you have a 700cfm dp not to far off but the biggest cfm you shold put on that motor is a 650. I would go with a 600, you would get off the line beter and not give up any top end power as long as you keep it under 6000.

yeah, plagues, your setup should be running faster than that... i run high 14's with swirl ports and a stock cam... good luck with that... hopefully my next trip out to phoenix will be in a 1992 RS 355cid TPI & BW/WC T-5 that runs mid 13's on ported heads and stock cam...
