Dyno Day!

A few of my buddies from ASU and I are putting together a dyno day at Arizona Dyno Chip for April 14th. Cost will be $45 for 20 minutes on the dyno and it includes some delicious food grilled by the most skilled burger and hotdog chef's on the planet! If you're interested let me know and I'll get everything taken care of, even if you don't do any pulls, come down, hang out and grab some food!

Hope to see you there
Tony

2-1/2 weeks. I think I can do that. I owe my brother a dyno pull as well so mark me down as 2 people.

Re: Dyno Day!

Kevin, good to hear it. We'd like to collect a down payment to make sure people don't bail, but don't worry about it. If you don't show I'll have to kick you in the nuts

Re: Dyno Day!

Oh hey Curtis! Yeah man, bring the car down, if you've never tuned it before it may or may not be an eye-opener for you. My buddy with a 2000 LS1 Z dyno'ed for the first time last year and saw that his WOT AFR was stuck up around 15:1! If not dynoing then definitely come hang out for the day.

Re: Dyno Day!

7plagues, I remember meeting you at Firebird a year or so ago. You have a red Firebird correct? You're definitely welcome to come up and dyno, I don't have any problems with the U except come game day

Curtis, sounds good, I'm always down to race.

Re: Dyno Day!

i've never been to one of these events, is it you show up and pick a time to dyno? what kind of dyno is it? and does it give a/f ratio too?

Re: Dyno Day!

A few more details:

The dyno is a dynojet chassis dynamometer with capabilities for 2wd or 4wd. Basically you show up and put your name on the list and when your name comes up, we'll have you pull your car on (we'll help you line it up) and we'll strap it down. You get 20 minutes on the dyno to do as many pulls as you want or to change things if you want and you get to drive the car on the dyno. From this you get HP/TQ curves as well as Air/Fuel ratio. The printer isn't working right now, but, we'll e-mail you your run files and you download Dynojet's software and can view the runs using the same software that the dyno itself uses for free. We're going to start at 9:00, so try and be there on time.

www.azdynochip.com for directions

That should be it!

It's nothing to worry about. There is a guy that will tell you what to do while you do it. He literally stands next to you outside the car and he'll say "PUNCH IT" and "Okay, stop". You won't look stupid.

Re: Dyno Day!

Yeah you'll get the basic rundown on how to drive on the Dyno before you go on, it's pretty simple and fun. The software can be downloaded at: http://www.dynojet.com/downloads/software.aspx

Re: Dyno Day!

I might come out to check out the dyno sessions. I won't bring my pile but I am going to try to stop by.

I have been thinking about having this same place tune my SD but I don't know much about this company. Does anyone have feedback other than the dyno day about their chip burning and tuning abilities?

Re: Dyno Day!

SD as in Super Duty or Speed Density? Keith is top notch when it comes to Ford products, and all aftermarket stuff. He can do GM, but he usually hands it over to Nic D who is pretty amazing as well. If you're talking Super Duty as in Diesel, then Keith isn't going to do it, there are just so many off the shelf chips that work amazingly with diesel that he doesn't touch them typically. Give him a call and ask, he may have some ideas or suggestions even if he's not willing to tune it himself. If you're talking Speed Density as in stock GM computer for TPI cars, bring it down and we'll talk.

Re: Dyno Day!

Kevin, thanks for bringing the Trans Am man, hope your brother is happy with the baseline.

Curtis, thanks for coming down and offering to pay even though you didn't dyno, I was really impressed, a lot of guys I know wouldn't ever think of doing that, so thanks man, I really appreciate it.

As for me, got it a few pulls and compared the effects of a cutout and taking off the air cleaner, bottom line, open your cutout if you like power and like it loud. Take off the air cleaner as long as you're not scared of getting small children sucked into the engine.
