Re: So.... My car just got stolen.
Call the anonymous line and be like, "I went to buy some parts from this guy, and they were at a phenomenal price. When I got there, I saw that he had all sorts of parts at outrageously low prices, for all sorts of makes and models. I had a feeling they might have been stolen, as while I was there, another guy drove up in a truck and dropped off six sets of wheels."

I like the anonymous part. I wouldn't want him to know who tipped off the cops. (Thats another reason I didn't immediately go to the authorities after that day at his house--it would have been pretty obvious who let the cat out of the bag, and I have to see this guy every day at work.)
Thanks man!

Oh yeah, I don't know if anyone else had mentioned this, but I saw another product online that might help protect your car. It's a device that locks out the shifter from being moved into gear.
Saw it at http://simjack.com:8185/
Hadn't seen it before, so I figured I'd post it.

Jack Simonian does a GREAT job. It's where I bought my Lok Itt column. But that shifter thing requires DRILLING. Which while I have the skills, I don't wanna go violating my floorpan just for some thieves. If they want it bad enough to get past the brake club and the steering column, then they want it bad enough to get some dish soap and a tow truck.

Oh, while changing the steering column out, I found that this car has been stolen before! Which might explain the now missing IROC decals, pinstripes, gold wheels instead of silver, and a few other differences I've noted from usual. I pull out the column and on top of it it says, "89 Str Clm, Tlt, Wpr, Crs" I know my 87 didn't come with an 89 column. Nope. :P

Good luck with that Lok-Itt. I had two cars stolen and put the column lock on it and my bad luck ended there...
