They need more nice Thirdgens at the Pavs!!!
Thirdgens are getting some love once again. 'Bout time. I was only one of 2 thirdgens, the other was a 15th Ann. T/A. I would've parked next to him but it was too late. People would walk over and check out my car, so I popped the hood and some of the guys were looking at the motor asking what kind of LT1 intake was that, or saying 'I didn't know the LT1 was in thirdgens'. So I explained that TPI is basically LT1s daddy. I could see how someone not in the know, could look at the plenum with the ribs on top and the TB and link it to LT1.
Anyway, here are some pics. I should've used some Tireshine, but oh well, I wasn't there to show off my car, it just happened. But it sure felt nice getting that attention. Another funny thing, there were 15 or so 2010 Camaros that stole the show. More than all the other Fbody gens combined and doubled.
Brian if you are reading this, we need to both head up there one saturday and get some Thirdgen respect going.

Damn... I really need to find some time and get my hood finished up. My girl's not really presentable in the state she's in now. Of course, it could be argued (pretty strongly) that she's not in much shape to be shown off even once the hood is finished either, since there's so much more to do. Still though, it might be fun to head up there and hang out for awhile.
Even if she's not real pretty right now, she's still my baby, and I love her. =D

i go almost every sat, unfortunately my car is nowhere near show quality, but i believe in strength in numbers, we could fill half a lane atleast if we all went lol id park in the show but now i gotta put on my new front clip.... someone decided to leave a nice big roll of chain link fence in the middle of the 10 and i hit it at about 70 >_<
in any case, if we can organize this weekend id do it, granted my camaros not much to look at but atleast we can show people we're still here

Yeah, got to get up there. Have not had the car out in awhile. Last time I took my Camaro out I had a crowd around the car and a ton of people taking pic's of it. I got more attention then the 69 Camaro next to me. Since most third gens are not looking to good when you bring a clean one out people get really exicted. A lot of people had these cars when they were new and are happy to see them restored.
It took twenty years but third gens finally get respect.

I'm reading this on Sat night I guess it's too late to go. What do you need to do to go to the Pavs? Do you have to let them know you are coming or do you just show up? How do you know where to park?

Lots to look at and the 5 & Diner across the street has good food. I've met some really nice people there and it's quite the family event.

If the car looks like garbage then the project will almost always be given up on and all that money put into the mechanics will go out the window. But the key part to this is the car should not be a daily driver. If it is get something else as a daily and get started on your restoration. So it sounds like it's time for some paint work

Re: They need more nice Thirdgens at the Pavs!!!
Talked to the guy about that brown 3rd gen. All original except a repaint 305 H.O. 5spd, 44k miles. Interior was perfect, Definitely one of the cleanest and nicest 3rd gens I have ever seen. Shot the **** with the owner for a while, really cool guy also.
I hadn't been to the pavs for a while since I live way out on the west side, it was a good time, makes me miss going out there all the time.

I'm dying to take mine out, I'm still in the process of prepping for paint. Hopefully in the next month or two, I'll be out there.
