Looking for an LT1

As the title speaks, thinking about tinkering with one to see if I like it or not. Running or not it's getting rebuilt anyway. So anybody got one they want to get rid of?

Whoa, robertfrank -- Kingman, AZ! I had a great time there back in 97 taking apart some L-1011's when I worked for TWA... really enjoyed visiting Loughlin as well...

Re: Looking for an LT1

I can get pics but it looks like any lt1 all stock accept for the 700r4 throttle bracket and a cold air. It is running and can send a vid or you can drive it. It also has a t-56 f/s.
the swap was pretty easy and if you have a stock lo3 it is a big difference I built mine so it hade somewhere in the 425HP range that is a BIG jump in power well worth it. check out my cardomain to see what it can look like in a thirdgen an the lt1 bord has all the stuff you will need.

Re: Looking for an LT1

Well my L03 is FAR from stock. As it stands it's a LOW 14 second car. Which by todays standards is nothing but I still have the stock heads and cam. If I were to swap to an LT1 and I don't end up in the 12's I'd be pissed. lol

Re: Looking for an LT1

To get to 12's with an LT1, cold air intake, long tubes, stall, tune, and drag radials. 1.7 rockers would be icing on the cake.

Traded my 96 WS6 for my gta. Fun car that LT1 was.

Re: Looking for an LT1

The reason I'm thinking about going the LT1 route is the whole ease of installation. I can still use my stock trans and edge 3200 stall if I get a throttle body from a 93 for my kick down cable. I can still use my 2055's if I can get past the D port head issue. AND.... I already have a ZZ4 cam that I can use with it. My car only weighs 2860 without me in it alittle over 3k with my 195lb self planted in the driver seat and I still have the stock iron heads on it. So again, 12's with the LT1 SHOULD be within easy reach.

Re: Looking for an LT1

my buddy dave has one brand new. eagle crank, rods n pistons.
little bit of head work (bigger valves, etc)

I'll see if I can get him to chime in here. (were in FL.)

decided to just do heads and procharger on an l98 so the lt1 is just sitting on a stand.

Re: Looking for an LT1

Sorry about the no response, I was kind of hoping to find something closer, shipping charges are a beast, lol. North Port? I'm originally from Tampa. I still have family in Sefner and Clearwater. But if the prices are right I might consider.

One more quick question. How well do you guys think the LT1 would run with the ZZ4 cam and the 3200 stall combo? Remember I have 3.42 gears.

Re: Looking for an LT1

3.42s and 3200-3500 is a good stall range and that cam should be fine.

Re: Looking for an LT1

No, I'll never leave the TBI world. I'm actually on the hunt for another TBI car to use as a driver. I figure I have a whole garage full of TBI stuff to use I shouldn't let it go to waste. I just want to take it up another level once I'm completely done with the 305.
