help...I need a tool...
Can anyone tell me where I can get a "Door hinge spring compressor"?? I am fixing that hanging door problem and I tried to force the pin around the spring and the darn thing just flew, anyway I put the pin in and the door even feel lighter than before just because it does not hang but I need to put that spring back in. Anyway I am not strong enough to compress the thing with my hand so I need this tool as mentioned in the Chilton Manual p360. Where can I rent this tool? I tried Autozone, Kragen and Pep Boys and none have it. Does anyone have a lead or ideas? Gracias

I had to buy one of those for my doors. The best place to get one is at an autobody shop. It should be between $12-$18. They may have it in stock or may have to order it.

They have some stores here in So Cal. and usually carry some hard-to-find items. The quality won't be super-duper, but it will be pretty affordable if they have it.
Thanks everyone,
James>>> do most autobody shops sell them? Or do you mean the shops that sell autobody shop supplies, I am going to drop by one tomorrow and see if they have them.
I went to harborfreight.com and found a store in Pasadena I called and they told me they had it, so of course I get there and they didn't.
They were realy sorry and nice but that didn't fix my door. They did have a lot of cheap tools though and I may go back there so thanks for that lead Bret. anyway I may just order it online through them if the bodyshop supply store does not have it. I tried Sears but no luck. Have a good weekend everyone and let me know if you have any other ideas.

I'm talking about the supply stores that sell paint, paper, and anything the bodyshops need. FWIW I got mine from a shop in westminster on Westminster Ave at Magnolia St. They'll scratch their heads and have to look it up in the catalog, but it'll be there, then thry'll call their supplier and have it in a couple days. Classic Camaro also lists one in their catalog but they might not have it in stock.
