Found a car

I found a car that I might buy its a 92 firebird with 305 TBI 5 speed with t tops and cd player and power everything it has 148k on it and its only 2400 what do you guys think? I have really wanted a 92 trans am but its very hard to find one close to me. So I might buy this and later try and get a trans am.

Anyone know how hard and how much it would cost me to swap on a TPI?

I don't know where you live in So Cal, but Don L. can rewire a tbi harness for speed density tpi. Getting the correct engine harness for the tpi is probably the most difficult part of the changeover. Then you just need the tpi hardware, and the speed density ecm.

Don't settle on a particular car because the price is low. You'll end up spending more money fixing everything wrong with it.

There is still a CLEAN 86 H.O. TA down the street from me if you don't having to drive a couple hours to see it. Only 42,000mi on the clock. $6300 obo.

You can't find any in San Diego? When I was looking for my car I found a lot 3rd gens...my favorite was a black GTA with the 5.7...that thing was sweet when I test drove it. The engine was clean had relatively low miles, the body was straight, paint could use help and the interior as well....however it was too much around $4k and I was specifically looking for the 82-84 style anyways, even though I love the GTAs. Keep looking though, I know they are there in San Diego. I bought my 82 fo $1000 around the Spring Valley area...granted the engine just blew a head gasket, but is currently getting a rebuild =) Gotta love living next to Mexico where labor isn't so high....so I'm getting a deal on my rebuild. Not to mention its a friend of my dad's doing the work. But yeah like I said keep looking I know they are there.

Anyone know what it would take to get the green cars front end fixed up for cheap and fast? I might buy it just to get around right now.

I would guess somewhere between $500 - $1000 depending on where you take it. Just to do my rear spoiler cost me $375 for prep and paint plus another $400+ for the spoiler itself.
