Yes, a big thanks to Mike for setting up the BBQ.

Anyone care to post a top speed for the bridge?

also, thanks to everyone for waiting up for me and 82firebirdTA... it was our first time attending an outing like this and our excitement regarding the cruise led us to follow the 'bird convertible heading home instead of reddrocket! oh well, live and learn. take care guys, and hopefully i'll see you at another event sometime soon!

Im following the convertible and I look back and I see The Red Rocket make a right turn on Warner, and I remember Don and James needed to get gas at Bushard, and I could not remember where it was.. So I keep following the Convertible and it goes 405 South Bound Im like where they going.. There going Home.. So I turn back around go to the gas Station on the right on Bushard and see no one there I missed them. So I begin to head to Pch I hit Pch South and did not see any one.. So I turn around and start heading towards Shell beach I believe and I have to go to the bathroom Bad.. I get back on Pch and head South again and I spot all of them, I was like Wow I found them. So I got to finish the rest of the cruise.

Thanks Mike for the great BBQ there was a lot of great food.
That Bridge was starting to get scary Pretty fast and smelly also.

Up would probably post the fastest time. I only looked at my tach long enough to shift into 4th gear. After that I was watching the wall and keeping and eye on you and Mike.

Mike's a baller so it was probably around a buck ten or more likely a little more. I let off when I started walking past him (after he came hot from behind) thinking that would be enough. Once he gets his engine together I think I'll have to look into a good life insurance policy if I want to play with him anymore or just keep him in check with the juice

I would like to thank each and every one of you for attending the BBQ. I’m glad every one had a great time, it was my pleasure. I will be hosting another get together sometime in late august. Looks like it might be a Vegas run. But I’ll keep you posted. Thanks again guys it was a blast!

Oh and as far as the bridge goes, I landed on that Mach 1’s bumper at a stout buck thirty before I had to lift and wait for James to catch up . But that’s ok he’s used to it.

See everyone at the cruise this weekend.

you lift when I'm chasing you down? Don't think so buddy. Buck-thirty I believe, but you lifting? nope. As I recall you came hot from behind, passed me (but never by too much) as I came back onto the road from being stopped on the shoulder and as we were going up the bridge I was walking on you. Somewhere in there Branden tried to keep pace but fell back.

Let's just say it invloved a wide open section of highway, a brand spankin' new Mustang Mach 1, and Mike's right foot.

At that point, a few of us also decided to join the chase.

Here is how it went; you were at a roll on the side of the road when I came by at just over a buck. Then you went deep into the throttle after I passed you. I had already reached the crest of the bridge when I started backing out of the throttle. That’s when you came thundering past me (at roughly 90-100 MPH) to my cruising speed of 55-60. I was so far ahead of you, I had figured that I would just shut it down before you put it into a wall or better yet the Mustang we were playing with. Will somebody please explain how a little flat tappet LM1 car can outrun a full roller, AFR-ed, SuperRammed, and 6-speed 85 Z28 . Oh I know, ******* size ! Who loves ya baby! :lala:

I tried to keep pace but my car does not have that much performance and my steering is not all that great, it was cool to see you and Mike Shoot of like a Rocket though =) a 100 was good enough for me.

I had leaped in front of the group to see if the Mach1 wanted to play but he didn't and I was pretty far ahead of the group so I pulled over on the side of the road waiting for everyone else to catch up. Mean while Mikey tried to blow my doors off at that point so after a couple rows I was walking him as we went up the bridge and which point I decided to lift and regroup.

Anybody REALLY think RR would lift under said conditions?

Mike runs pretty well

I am just surprised how well Mikes car performs, I think he knows how to drive well in any conditions.

Since only the people behind me can hear my unique exhaust note sometimes I wonder how they feel after they were just passed by something of such 'wicked' sound.

That 'issue' is on my long term "must do something about' list. I just did a bunch of suspension mods to my car on sunday. I have a few more things still laying around I need to bolt on. Then I'll install new carpet. After that I'll tackle some of the annoying things my car does. If you go to my website I have listed several mods that I've only mentioned to a few people- nothing extravegant...but worth noting.
