regarding seats

does anyone know where i can get my seats re-upholstered?

the seats are in good shape, but there is a nasty 4x5 inch tear on the drivers seat and the back seats have some tearing going on at the top, want to either get it fixed or have it all re-done.

thanks for any info

I did know a guy

That had his car completely redone door panels and all carpet seats etc, In a convertible. He got an awesome deal. He never got me the number of the place or the name, we use to be neighbors and we both moved and now I can't get in touch with him and I have all the leather to have my seats done. Im hoping I see him around some time. Because it seems every where else you call they want A lot of money.

Hey Jenn,
try TRIM-LINE in Redondo Beach. it's at 319 S. PCH where Torrance Blvd crosses it, down the street from me. they did a vinyl top on a 76 buick i had years ago. i was gonna have the seats redone and was given a great price. never had it done though, but they've been there for years and do good work!! 310-540-0088 or 310-540-0469. call and see if they can give you a idea of price for what you need.

good work is expensive, cheap work is cheap.
United Custom Ulp in orange is very good, but not cheap. About $1700 to do a interior in leather, cloth is alittle cheaper but since it is mostly labor there isn't much cost savings.
Probably best to go with JC whitney or ? seatcovers until you can afford to have it done right.
If you find a place willing to do a partial (ie replace one or two panels in a seat) make sure it is in writing what panels they are going to replace. Sometimes they forget to replace one that is only worn and not torn.

you could try looking into getting some 4thgen seats they bolt right in and you can pick them up for under 300.I love mine I got some 97 Z28 dark charcole power seats for my 92 rs and they are great and bolt right in with no I meen no modifications. Thats alot cheaper than a shop with charge. I looked into it for my car and I couldnt believe how much people wanted and the material sucked so good luck

Talk to Art over at AJ's Auto Upholstery in Garden Grove. They did my convertible top and will be doing my entire interior here in the next few weeks. They do a lot of custom low riders, but they do good work, have won a ton of trophy's etc...

Have you looked at hawks?

They have seat covers that are pretty sweet and it's under $350 for a whole set to do the front and rear.

Look in body and interior section of the boards and find the thread that has "Hawks interior Kit" as the subject.
Lot's of pictures of a vert that just put them in.
Looks very good and many color combo's to choose from.

A good do-it-yourself project.
