I got some cross drilled slotted rotors

I purchased the exact same set Rotors like Nigel got off ebay. But I did not get the great bargain like he did. I watched them go up to 170 NR.. And I emailed the guy and asked would I be able to just buy direct. He wrote back sure it will be 130 shipped, I have a few sets left. They only took one day to arrive. They look like there going to be a great rotor. They have more cross drills in them than other rotors. I asked Donny is his name what is the difference, And of course the cooling, the more drills is going to allow better cooling. Nigel says his set are real nice and notices a big improvement even with his drums. I also purchased a set of cross drilled slotted rotors for my Malibu and I had a shop install them and they came out great, the braking performance is awesome.. And for the price of 130 that beats Kragen just for a set of original front rotors. So this will help out the braking for now until a 1le can be afforded. If any one is interested I can drop you his email adress.

if some holes are good, more are better.

ya thats the only way any heat is going to vent through those rotors they are solid besides the holes.. That many holes I wonder if they crack when they get real hot.. under extreme racing..

Mike and I did some track testing a fe weeks back at willow and here's the pic that his wife took. Pretty impressive in you ask me. they get up to operating temps faster then non-drilled rotors which allows you to take advantage on the first lap or two. Plus with less material they cool quicker and allow your car to go faster because of the weight savings.

The more holes also decreases the amount of braking surface and reduces stopping power. Cooler rotors are nice, but if you're running hi-perf pads they need heat to perform. Too cool and they don't stop well.

Well, there is an extra 3 holes to the 4 or so slots in the radius circle.. The Malibu is braking nice with a Bendix metallic pad in all conditions. Im still awaiting buying pads going to see if my Warranty is going to work or just buy some not so expensive pads but stay with the quality. What do you think about those pads on tirerack.com?

If you're talking about the EBC pads, I have a set for my 1LE set-up. Since I don't have them on the car yet, I can't comment on their stopping power. I have heard mixed reviews on them from others.

I can say that I wasn't thrilled with their build quality. For $80 I shouldn't have to massage the backing plates to make them fit better and work smoother.

I doubt I'll do EBC a second time.

I see so those sound to be a not out of the box fit. Well, since my car does not RR and just does normal freeway and bumper bumper traffic. I'll probably stick with what ever they have at Kragen or Pep Boy's.. I really wanted to have Don do a ls1 rear swap but there is no parts out there f/s and I have spent a little extra on a gear upgrade from 3:27's to 3:45's waiting on Don to feel better, Im excited to get them in and feel the difference cause my car lugs off the line. After 2 years after the crank kit rebuild it seems the car does not pull as fast as it did before. And I have done some mods to the car, like the chip and mass screen and K&N's and 160 thermo and the cooler operating temps t/b bypass etc.. But who knows maybe it's faster now and Im just use to it. Esp. since The super ram was on and feeling that hp increase and was starting to enjoy the feel of that extra 50hp then it was taken off..
