I got home today to see my new SDPC Vortec base and can you say "core shift" ports 1,2,3,4,5 and 7 all line up perfect and this is a picture of 6 and 8 with the gaskets from SDPC. Look how far the injector boss is off. The gaskets match my heads perfect.

Are they going to pick up the shipping? Maybe you can get an ARS label out of them.

Looks like Edelcrock must be making those for SDPC. They have the same QC department, too.

Yes VicEEEE makes the for SD. The funny thing is now SD is out of stock again and has no other intakes to look at or test. One other thing Josh at SD told me was this batch had allready made one trip back to Edelbrock for "other fitting problems"

I got this E-mail today and this was the all it said.

"Jerry, I sent a UPS call tag yesterday to pick up your intake for inspection. If you can please have it ready to ship back."

Inspection? How about replacement. Oh yea SD is out of stock.

You'd think that after making SBC manifolds for 30+ years they could get it right.

Jerry,
You're pretty handy in the machine shop. Can't you do some creative work to fix those two ports?

It seems that would be better than waiting on SD or Edelbrock to figure out how to produce a proper manifold. What a pain. Has Don had any trouble with his SD intake?

That 30+ year old machinery is all worn out and out of spec

I think the delays that S-D had in getting the manifold out to start with was that Edelcrock kept building it down to their quality level, and S-D wouldn't accept it at that level. Once Edelcrock got it right for one shipment so S-D advertised availability, Edelcrock went back to their standards instead of S-D's. I see those commercials on Speed where Vic talks about it being right or he wouldn't put his name on it. I think he would put his name on anything he could sell whether it works or not, and he has proven the truth of that statement over and over again.
