I think it be great to hold this event.. That way there is no mystery's.. So that's everyone's goal Have your cars ready by Nov.

Heater core blew out Saturday night , replaced that Sunday. Then I noticed that the spark plug wire boot for #8 would randomly fire the spark onto the primary tube. So I waited for the car to cool down removed the wire, wouldn't you know boot was melted Oh yeah I also finally removed the stock hood insulation

Seriously though, it's probably most directly the result of getting some scanning software on the car so that I could finally see what is going on. I have my setup together finally and am just waiting for TTS to get back to me with my registration code, after that I just have to find out why I occasionally loose connection to the PCM while the car is running

I've had the GTA sitting in the driveway since last Thursday. Spent Sunday afternoon replacing the FPR diaphragm and then trying to figure out why I have 70psi of fuel pressure. Monday night was a continuation of the saga.
I get to run around for some more parts tonight and I may pull the fuel rail. It all depends on what Glenn has to report from his research.

I know that the parts have made a huge difference but I have also had to have time to drive the car more at the track to get the launches to be more consistent, after all you can make over 100 MPH trap speed but if the 60' is off you are going to have a crappy timeslip

Well, the most I have done to my 3rdgen was slap some new Silver Iroc center caps on the rims.. I had purchased a set of 85-87 colors and all be I did not now the fitment is different.. So I had to send them back and there was no problems for return.. rims look much better now..

Great. If I ever get around to ordering the parts I want, they'll end up being sent to the 'Santa Ana' in Chile.

I used them to ship my drive shaft and gave them some sheet about my last experience and how they better not screw this one up. I made a big stink and got lots of apologies and left feeling like I didn't have to cut any of them off the road any more.

The GTA is back on the road.
I spent Friday night stripping and repainting the fuel rail and Saturday morning picking up a new FPR assembly. Saturday night was spent putting the car back together. It fired right up and I once again have proper fuel pressure.
Car ran a little rough this morning on the way to church, but I think it's from running so rich when the FPR died. Ran better on the way home. A little fuel system cleaner in the tank should clear it up some more.

Watching the crack grow. I don't get it. I have a rock chip in the windshield of every vehicle I own, (Debra's Volvo, my Dodge Ram, RS, Formula). Most have had a rock chip for years without any cracking further. The Formula has been just sitting on the driveway for about a week now un-driven. I filled the coolant overflow tank last weekend. Earlier this week I looked over at the Formula and noticed what looked like coolant leaking from it onto the driveway. I figured it was just a crack in the coolant overflow tank, which is an easy repair. I finally took the time to pop the hood to investigate it. That's when I noticed that a rock chip in the windshield has now grown into a crack growing roughly equally on each side from the original chip to about 6" in length. I was planning to have the windshield replaced when it gets painted.
I'm really surprised that a crack would develope just from the heat cycles from being outdoors. I'd understand it if I were driving it and the vibrations caused the crack to develope. Oh yeah, back to my original reason to look at the Formula. The coolant tank is still full as is the radiator. I still don't know what the coolant leak was from.

Perhaps the hoses, I had a leak from the return line on the oil cooler of the IROC a long time ago, but seeing as how the Formula is a 305 it doesn't have the oil cooler right?

Donna was a doll and rescued my tires from the evil clutches of UPS. She then took them along with the new to me rims and got the tires mounted, now I can go home after the gym and see how they look on the IROC

Okay, so maybe it's not the water pump.
The only other thing I can suggest is to check the hose connections. Over time as the hoses age, the clamps need to be snugged every so often.

Mounted Rims and Tires last night I think I will have to sell one of the sets of 88-90 IROC rims that I now have laying around the garage.

That's ONLY because the next project is much bigger.. Let's just say LS and leave it at that
I would still put that engine up against most here. May not be the ALL out fastest, however it will be the fastest getting 26mpg Got to love DFI
Especially against a tiny bit faster L98. I mean LT1 cam and slightly ported l98 heads At least drop a 2032 in that thing

Killjoy, I applaud you for doing things the right way-building the car 's suspension and brakes to handle the increased performance and then putting in one hell of a drivetrain to put the power down. It alot of coin spent in the right places and pays off. Many don't realize what power a good drivetrain will give you.
Just drop the rear to 4.11's and you'll still have a top gear 70mph @ aprox 2300.
