What does it take to have someone do a job right (or at least not f**k something up!)
SubscribeWent to pick up the 'vert from Power Chevy this afternoon... Car was filthy, was apparently parked under a pine tree, and (although the service tech denies it) it would appear that the window was left partially down. Now, all this wouldn't be all that big of a deal if it HADN'T RAINED 1"-2" IN THE PAST FEW DAYS!
Needless to say, I'm rather P.O.'ed at the moment. Passenger side door panel and leather seat were soaked and there was about an inch of water in the rear floor pan. After my experience last month at HB Dodge (when the rear wheel of my truck fell off going down Beach Blvd. - a whole different story) it is easy to see why I have absolutely no faith in anyone touching my vehicles except myself (and Don
). The service manager will be getting a letter from me shortly.

You dont even want to know what dealers have done to my cars over the years. I dont trust them at all.

Ah man that is terrible.. If the leather became real wet.. You should make them replace that for sure..
Myself I can't seem to get a tow truck driver to unload my cars safely.. Just recently I had my car towed to Don and the driver dives my front end off the flat bed truck right into a speed bump..
and more less of how the story goes you call the company owner and they take the information and say there going to go look at the car and they never do.. So you call back and always as the story goes is that there Driver said they never did such thing..

It was on the bottom of the trunk. Good thing it hammered out.

Simple. Take it to Don or do it yourself.
I had to get my car towed last week. It died on the freeway thanks to a battery switch that failed, and then it wouldn't restart stay running without gas after I got power back through. The tow truck driver asked "is that a 350?" and was impressed that the frame was reinforced (thanks to Don) and by the engine and such. He took a lot of care and had good aim rolling my car down into my parking spot (in a pretty small parking lot).
I've never had a bad experience with a tow truck driver, except one that my girlfriend overheard calling me a yankee
But yeah, the two times I took my car to the dealer it got scratched, they broke some vacuum lines, and it's always come back filthy.

99% of our dealer service was @#!*#@# at Pontiac, Ford and Olds. But the work done at the Cad dealer on the Cad was always good.
Generally speaking Dealer service sucks. The only thing I think you can get from a dealer is the car you cannot find anyplace else(new or used) Those of you who know me have heard about my 84 and most recently my wifes Mustang. Even the Little Red Car has had its share of Dealer crap. I wont ever take anything I own to a Dealer ever again. The wifes Mustang however is another story ......

I have had good luck with Saturn dealers. They are expensive, like all dealers, but they have always done the work right, and the only time they did not wash and vacuum the car was one time I was in a hurry, and asked them to forgo the wash. When I had a ford, I took it to Puente Hills Ford, and they did good work on it, of course being a ford, they got lots of practice!
