Need help with iroc

Car: 1987 Camaro & 1996 Camaro
Engine: V8 350 tpi
Transmission: 700r4
Need help with iroc

hey guys! okay, there is a camaro for sale that i'm interested in, just wanted to know whats the best way to tell if its a real iroc: its an 87, has a 350, 8th digit on vin is 8, is there any other way to help me tell, it doesnt have the rpo codes, and is there a way to figure out the original color?

Engine: 355 TPI siamesed runners
Transmission: Tremec T56
Axle/Gears: 12-Bolt 3.73
The 350 engines were only available in IROC's in 1987, not Z28's, so if it has a 8 in the 8th digit of the VIN, then its a real IROC. Now just make sure the engine is still a 350.

What color is it now? You can check the engine bay, the door jambs, the hatch area, and look for overspray or colors other than normal.

thanks, and its yellow, and is there a certain code i could look for to tell me the original color?

Yellow is a rare color, and I am not sure if it was offered on 1987 f-bodies. According to the RPO decoder on this site, 35U is the code for yellow exterior paint.
You can find the RPO codes in the glove box between the seats.
