Low 13's at almost 105mph with just a 5-6psi Vortech supercharger and a 3" mandrel bent catback. Yeah, the MSD ignition and drag radials helped a bit too. Not Bad! Stock LS1 territory right there.
Hmmmm... I wonder what a ATI procharger running higher boost and some headers would've done? They probably could've broke well into the 12's at 110+.
That is, if the cars were truly 100% stock. No cam or hi flow base slipped in. They looked stock original to me though.
What'd think??

I wonder if the white car had 3.27 gears and the red car had 2.77 gears because of the t-tops. That would explain the huge difference in ET's. Or the red car drivers could just be that bad.
I love how they hyped up the "custom race radiator" so much. They acted like the car would overheat just sitting on the starting line if it didnt have their special radiator in it.

Also stock LS1s do not run in the low 13s, though the LS1 guys would like to have you believe that
*yes a stock LS1 motor, but not a stock LS1 f-body

i think the guys in the red car should have left it in drive cause unless you know when to shift the car your going to shift at the wrong time. the guys in the white car started going way faster when they just left it in drive.

In the second run, the red team continued to shift by hand while the white team chose to let the trans shift itself. The difference was night and day at that point.
The guys on the red team were either shifting too soon or waaaay too late. Plus, the factory shifter is a pain to shift by hand, as they learned and the in-car camera footage showed.

The before dyno numbers showed a 10hp advantage for the white car.
Don't know if it made as much a diff as shown on the track, but the blower could give the white car almost a 20hp avantage.

Yah, they run high 12's, as GMHTP magazine proved with a 12.96 in a 98 Camaro SS way back when.

Those who are in the LS1 scene know what there true potential is. Having said that, I know of a 2002 Z28 M6 that ran 12.4s @ 112 at Ca Dragway. All he had was a lid, cutout and ET Streets. My SS ran a 13.7 (with a 2.1 60') at Carlsbad raceway with just a lid and Goodyear F1s in the hot summer. With cooler weather and a better launch it would have gone 13.4s

Wasnt that 12.999999 with slicks?
Fast regardless, but there is no such thing as stock. I've heard of 05 Stangs running the fine line of 12-13.0 and most I've seen in normal unmodified trim run at least .5 slower (and generally more). I guess with enough seat time, adjustments, good weather, and accidentally slipping on a set of stickies you can accomplish some pretty amazing things.
