I'm always up for it! I would like to see your new combo Vincent. Bbut the last time I went there with street tires was a disaster. I'd have to see what to do about slicks.
Edit:
Hmm. Well thinking about it I guess I could be a spectator for once. I could wear high heels and a mini skirt! It's a tough decision.

Need to use this tactic at Fontana.

Sure, sounds like some fun. Although without positraction im gonna suck off the line. But hey ill give it a try and itll keep me out of the house for a while. look for Blue flame camaro. Maybe i can have my new wider tires by then. Get them broken in properly you know 1/8th of a mile long burnout.

Vincent, I think Steve (Steves86ta) was thinking of going as well this Thursday, maybe you could use the opportunity to see if you can beat him out of the hole

The Speedway has permission slips for the kiddies to use. Steve usually has to make a trip there everything there is a street legal so that one of his friends will be able to race

Just got back in...
Now that I'm no longer a total beginner, the standards are a little higher. Part of the trouble I've had is because I keep leaving the line like I still have street tires! Like, nowhere near 100%.
I went to try to improve my 60' . I didn't have a computer to see, but at least my 60' were somewhat better today. I got a 1.97 and a 1.95! New for me, but not great.
No new best times but they were OK. Some 9.0's.
My R/t's were better. All under .560 (.500 light)
Thanks to Vincent for helping me at the track today,
and Don for lending me the slicks (and pointing out what I need to work on.) Hopefully as my skills improve I'll be able to get more out of the car.

I improved my 1/8mi times. For the first time at Irwindale I needed a helmet for running quicker than 8.50e.t.
2.09 60ft, 8.47@85.06 with air filters
2.01 60ft, 8.26@87.53 without air filters
2.14 60ft, 8.36@86.57 without air filters and turned fuel pressure up and bad launch
1.95 60ft, 8.14@88.60 good launch
These passes were done on Khomo radial tires. Still need more tuning. I'm sure to run in the 11's soon so look out ya'll!

Nice times Vincent!
But you have a long way to go for 11s, you need a 7.6 for that. Your best 1/8 mile of 8.14@88.60 is a 12.74@109.86 in the 1/4.
Hmm, I should have gone out there with the SS and ran you, would have been a good race.
But we are heading up to LACR tonight with the Z28.

How is 8.14 only a 12.84 when I went 8.25 on my 12.80 run? Seems like 8.14 should be a 12.70 or even 12.65.
Which converter are you using?

Hehehehe. Not bad Vincent, not bad at all. Question though? Is it good enough? I know of a certain gun metal grey GTA that has run a 8.065 at slippery Fontana and with a 8.102 at the last meet.

I fixed my typo, the 8 is next to the 7, but he is still far away from 11s.As for your run ... you did not hook very well. With proper traction (say a low 1.7 60'), my estimates are about right using your run.
BTW, I use NHRA specs for my conversions.

I have witnessed some female drivers actually AutoX racing in their "Bikinies" during the summer months. Oh those hot hot days of summer
They would NOT let them work course until they covered up. Do you think that they would be a distraction or something when trying to concentrate on the "proper" line through a corner
