im aware, but i tend to take the difficult route... lol turning a TBI vert into a 12 second car, NA, smog legal and using pretty much only GM production parts... (some lightly modified... haha)

mine is as far as smog is concerned... its refereed, certified and changed on my registration and everything... CA knows i have a 350 in it... dunno about the full legality of it, but i took it to a referee and a test only and it passed...

Of course your modded L05 is faster than a stock or so L98... Remember once you get into the 13's you'll need a 6-point rollbar in that convertible, or the drag strip will kick you out.
Good luck with your project. Give me a call if you need a chip burned for your combo.
Thanks, i really appreciate it. My LO5 is pretty much stock, no work done to it yet, but im sure the L98's i raced were out of tune and needed help too... all my stuff has less than 20k on it... When i get the 083's, the LT1 cam and Long Tubes on it, i will most definately be needing your help tuning. Im shooting christmas time until its all said and completed because i still need the heads machined and i dont know anyone who will do it for me and i dont have the tools or the time, so it looks like im taking them to a machinist. I dont know how much money or time it will take to get them ported, polished, valve guides... all that, but when i do, im hoping for low 14's, high 13's
oh, i know, by no means is TBI better than TPI, but i just want to max out the potential of the setup i have before changing it... when i cant really mess around with the TBI anymore, ill change it over to TPI. Ive seen TPI combos with over 500 horses... ive never seen an NA TBI SBC make that much... haha. but for now, if it aint broke, im not gunna fix it...
and im pretty sure i wont succeed out here... it seems like i have a lot more competition... out there we had stock L98's or CaptPicards and AZ406TPI... both with 400 or more RWHP 406 SBC's... AZ's is still TPI, but Capt switched his over to carb not too long ago..

Yea even with the air on them Dyno Don makes a nice set of shorties 1 3/4 that will pass look like the SLP's
i want to get the SLP's but i dont have $600+ lying around for the coated 1 3/4"... i got the LT's from a guy in phoenix for $75... guess those will just have to go on the truck then...
Don's headers aren't stainless, but they are a better design than the SLP's. He repositioned the tubes in the left side collector so that you no longer need to decide whether you want headers or steering with his you can actually have both!
