Appears in your rearview mirror while your playing cat and mouse with a fox body? Immediately take your foot off of the throttle, yield the right of way, and get your pudgy little hand out the window as fast as humanly possible with a thumbs up before you get your ****ing as handed to you. Jesus H Christ that mother****er was bad!!!

Yep, you get outta the way. FAST.
Those are so nice. My hangup with the ZO6 is I want the sunset orange with carmel int. Cant get the carmel int in the ZO6. And the top is solid. Hard to own a sports car and not be able to go topless.
Chris drove a 2004? ZO5? modded that was for sale at Irvine Chev. They went over the fwy to the industrial area and the guy let Chris drive, Chris said it was almost scary fast.

They could offer a targa. where the T tops come off and and the rear window is removable like the 69"s. or the Mercedes with the popup rollbar.
Actually the roof is part of the structural intrgerty due to the revamped/lighter chassis.

You get off the FWY, buy Kenny's car, and lose, but much more closely.

sorry about that Mike...I didn't mean to scare you so bad. You really need to *** some power to that grey thing of yours so you won't impede traffic anymore.

No, you must have confused me with your long-term male companion, Kevin Lorentzen. I was the guy in the Z06 driving a little above the limit. But you may have suffered whiplash and slight brain damage trying to get a lock on who was driving such a beast of a car.

I beg your pardon? How dare you question Kevins technique? He is the kindest, gentlest, and most nurturing man I have ever allowed into my circle. He could teach you a thing or two mister and Ill have you know hes not bad with cars either.
When the throttle is empty, speedo is pegged and he pulls away from you so hard and fast that you cant read his license plate suddenly you start to feel quite bitchlike.

C6 Vetts are in my way. They are not fast enough. They are not faster than a 2001-2004 Z06. C6 Z06 is another story. I'll just tie a rope to it an enjoy the ride.

My shop hasa a customer that has a C6 Z06 and the guy let me drive it when it came in for it's first oil change. Man, that thing is STUPID FAST! I've never been scared to drive a car on the street without traction control, even my buddiesViper, but there's no way I would attempt this w/out it. With it on, you punch it, it chirps the tires, squats, and launches HARD!
what about the Lingenfelter C6? lol, 211mph in a standing mile run, spinning the tires through 4th http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/.../photo_81.html that picture is taken at 125 mph... lol, thats insane2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Acceleration Video Thats the regular Z06

I have spent a lot of time instructing in in C5s and C6s...I know enough to spank my third gen all over the road race track with one of these. The drag strip is not my domain, however, it is not the Corvette's either. The C6 Z06 is just a rocket no matter where you take it!

You must be talking about this Kevin Lorentzen:

Not to downgrade what Lingenfelter has done for vehicle technology, but most of his really out stuff breaks during magazine testing.
My other question with the ZO6, unlike a crotch rocket which I know will kill me, will owning a ZO6 kill me, maime me, or just send me to jail.
FYI, I ran 120+ down jamboree sun past peters park. It got floaty going over the crest, guess I need a chin spoiler.

From my experience there is a HUGE difference between the power of the regular C6 and the Z06 C5. That's why you can get a C5 ZO6 in great condition for the low 30ks right now.

I drove the C6 a couple times at the ASIM events, couldnt hold a candle to the ZO6 I drove. Faster than a C5 for sure, but not that modded ZO6 I drove. They do ride nicer though and seem to handle just as well.
I need to find a sucker to let me 'borrow' his 06 ZO6 for a few hours.

Standard C6 is the 400hp LS2 6.0L engine. The new 2006's have 3 tranny's to choose from, 6speed manual, Auto, 6speed auto with paddle shift.
That C6 Z06 is awesome. We had a chance to ride in one and check it out pretty thoroughly on a lift. The body is quite different from the normal C6. A lot of carbon fiber body parts, chasis reinforcement, Dry sump oiling system, sodium filled valves, 6 piston calipers, ect ect. There are soo many awesome things to that car to name them all.
Ive been in a C6 Z06 killer about 4 weeks ago. If you guys think the C6 Z06 is fast.. you need a ride in one of these!!
A C6 6 speed with an STS Twin Turbo kit on it. Laid down 540rwhp the dyno. (stock dyno on the LS2 C6 was 344rwhp) That thing can spin its wheels and gets sideways while at 100mph on the freeway in 3rd. That car is by far the most crazy car I have been in.

I was actually playing with an SRT-8 Friday night on the 605.
I really enjoy a spirited blast through the 10 west to the 605 south interchange (left hand reducing radius sweeper through a chicane to a right hand off camber dog leg) and explode out of it onto the 605 just under a buck.
Well as luck would have it, I’m making my daily run and pop out right in between a light gray SRT-8 and an Evo VIII going at it. The guy driving the SRT-8 and I looked at each other, meanwhile I’m thinking don’t to my self don’t do it your going to get your *** handed to you. I had re-sprung the front end with a heavier combination literally an hour prior to this point and was anxious to put the car through its paces, but not necessarily against 425HP SRT-8.
Then I could feel it, my short mans complex started to take over. I could feel the chip on my shoulder starting to vibrate in the wind. **** it! I turned on my dome light so the driver of the SRT-8 could see me and gestured for him to take the lead.
This guy was just as shocked as he was appalled that a guy in a mere Camaro wanted to bring him to task. His breakaway speed alone made me nauseous and immediately rethink my actions, but the mighty LO3 wasn’t having it. I typically let would-be bad asses take the lead to better access their skill set. This was the perfect example of guy that hand the means to acquire the car but lacked the testicular fortitude to embrace and take full advantage of its performance.
Once I passed him in traffic the only time he was able to reel me in was straights where there wasn’t any traffic. Which I’m sure must have looked like I was waiting for him to catch up. We played cat and mouse from the 60 to the 5 and when it was all said and done he pulled next to me and gave me a thumbs up and I too returned the gesture but I wasn’t left with a genuine sense of accomplishment. I will say that when he actually took a chance it was amazing to see a car that size transition that well. Its road manor had a striking resemblance to an E39 M5.
My stomach still hurts from watching that car explode out of traffic and serve up some of that 425 he had on tap. It’s refreshing to see an American car with such signature styling, astute handling, and crisp performance. Would I do it again? Probably not, because with the right skill set behind the wheel I can’t say that the outcome would be the same.

BUUUTTTT- even if I can be so lucky to clip off a C6 Zo6 on a roll (traction control he'll waste me off the line unless we have slicks- and he's fast always even in regular street trim!) by the time I start to catch him and pass him (maybe) he can come hard down on the binders and turn a corner and I skid off into a telephone pole trying to hang with him.
not a car to screw with at all- They are a race car in full time street trim and always deadly- My suggestion is to just give him a thumbs up and all due respect.
I have already eaten a stock C6 (non-Z06) for lunch, straight line- no contest. But in all due respect, they are still a very fast all around handling car.
