While working Tuesday, 7/11/06, I drove past this car parked on San Vicente in West Hollywood with a For Sale sign in it. I stopped to look it over, I called, and I went back today to get a better look and take it for a drive. The car is in excellent mechanical condition, and it's in good cosmetic condition, though it has some blemishes, inside and out, but nothing major anywhere. Overall, this car is pretty nice, and it's ready to be driven to its new home.

I turned the key, and the engine fired-up without hesitation. The transmission shifted perfectly, the car rode nicely, the A/C blew hard and COLD, and the engine ran well–VERY, VERY WELL! New are the fuel injectors and the alternator, all replaced a year and a half ago.

Interior: I assume the upholstery is vinyl, though it looks like leather. But I'm not up on Camaros enough to know what was offered in 'verts. The leather steering wheel needs re-wrapping, and the driver’s seat is torn. But both of those could be considered normal for a 15 year old car. With regard to interior mechanics, the cd player doesn’t work, and the power windows don’t work. Those few items are easily repairable, and everything else inside is in good condition, including the dash pad.

Exterior: There’s damage to the front nose and gfx, but it’s surface only. There’s damage to the passenger side rear quarter, wheel flare and bumper cover, more extreme than the front damage, but still fairly minor. Also, the convertible rear window is fried and needs replacing. With those few minor repairs, this car would shine.

The asking price is $3,950.00, though I don’t know how firm that is. That would be between you and the seller. So if you’re interested, call Jim at 310-657-5083 and go check it out. He’s not the owner, but he’s showing it for the owner, a friend of his who is currently out of town. Jim possesses the original owner’s manual, he can tell you the history of the car’s ownership(second owner, one family), and he'll try to answer your questions, though you can ask me here, too.

In the next post, I’ve posted an album with 10 pix.

Again, this car is nice. It's not perfect, but it could easily be made to be--and that's coming from someone who has been known to be a real picky b@st@rd.

Tim

This is still available, but it's not in West Hollywood anymore. The owner is back in town for awhile, so it's back at his home in Sherman Oaks(south San Fernando Valley, for those who aren't familiar with the LA area). But you can still call Jim at 1-310-657-5083. The car will be back-and-forth to West Hollywood a few times a week, in case that's more convenient for people.

This is still available, and I was told it was just put in some trader publications and other websites, too.

In fantastic running condition, having low-ish mileage, being a Z28, a TPI, and a 'vert, along with what seems like a fair price, I thought this would sell quickly. And it might now that it's more widely advertised. So if anyone's interested...

And one thing I learned today(already edited above), the interior isn't vinyl, it's leather. I wasn't sure when I saw the car. It looked like leather, but I thought 'verts came with vinyl... why I thought that, I don't know. But it's leather.
