Re: Machine work
Im trying to take off at least .030 in. This will get me to my desired compression.
I called a machine shop today who claims they are well respected, nice people, and been in the business for 47 years.
I asked the guy if he can mill my heads. "what do you mean mill your heads? the only head work we do is resurfacing and rebuilding." Now I may be wrong but I thought resurfacing and milling were the same thing.
I told him I wanted to shave them down. "well you know your going to have very high compression which is going to blow your engine." I told him my engine is already prepared for shaved heads. "whatever, how much do you want to shave off."
Now this may sound funny to you guys but I didnt know how to say .030 in. so I told him "ummm, point 0 Three 0 of an inch." He told me, "theres no such thing, I cant work with you unless you give me a REAL number." "well Im sure you understand what I mean. Its point 0 three 0 of an inch, I dont know how to say it." "I cant work with you without a real number call me back when you know what your talking about."
Dont go to kenyon machine. There extreme d!ck heads.
