Battery relocation, is it legal?

Is it in our communist state? Will the tech care?

Re: Battery relocation, is it legal?

Not sure if it's legal or not but, for safety sake, you should install an external cutoff switch in the rear.

But now that I think about it, some cars have them under the seat.
Probably isolated tho.

Thanks, Don. I just thought about this; I guess when It comes time to smog it I could just install the battery back to its original spot. The cutoff switch is a good idea, I hadn't thought about it. Thanks.

You'll want to use a dry cell (Optima-type) if you put it in the interior. No more battery acid or a chance of outgassing.

Or use a Battery Box if you put in a standard, acid-filled battery.

Indeed. My plan is to use a battery box and just drill a hole on the floor for the tube to let the gases escape.

the "euro" ones have vent tubes built in to them. They made them just for putting them under seats and trunks ie. BMWs
