Re: failed smog thread.....

Notice your NOX is low and HC high, that usually means the 02 might not be working, or a bad injector, check them with an ohm meter, should be 12-18 ohms.

When the NOX is low, that indicates cool combustion ie. rich mixture.

Re: failed smog thread.....

well when i failed emissions on my car everything failed. So what i did was i bought some techron fuel injector cleaner and filled my tank then poured it in and ran it for about 100 miles then i bumped my idle up to about 900 and the day i was scheduled to take the sniffer test i drove it on the freeway for about a half hour till it got nice and warm and then went right to the testing station and had them pull it in without shutting off the car. Since i did that it passed with flying colors also check your plugs and timing

If the engine is stock, are you using 22lbs injectors?

Re: failed smog thread.....

That was my issue as well.I retarded the timing a couple (maybe more) degrees & raised the idle speed a couple hundred too.Plus the unsual, inpect/clean plugs,check/replace cap & rotor.I also poured a bottle of that Lucas fuel/octane booster thing.

That does typically fail you. It causes the car to run rich and throws everything else off

Re: failed smog thread.....

My car likes to run about 140-160 around town.So i took the air dam off to spike the temp into the 200-210 range.
