I've looked at second hand Aluminium heads and it's just not worth it.
$500 for second hand heads and at least $500 to recondition them
You can buy brand new aluminium Pro Comp heads on eBay for less than $700 and they have better specs.

I think the best budget head is the afr stage one head for 1,300 as I had mentioned in another thread. Im running the built ported Vortec head and I made some serious amount of torque to the rear wheels. Im guessing the Afr stage 1 head would probably increase my hp. Just a little more flow.

Re: Anyone seen L98 aluminum heads in the junkyard
If you dont have the $400 for the Corvette heads, then you probably dont have the money for the aftermarket intake you need to make those heads fit on your engine, either. The Corvette heads have a different intake bolt angle that will not work with a Camaro/Firebird TPI intake. Also the Corvette heads do not have the EGR passages as well. So you'll need to hook up an external EGR system like the Corvettes to make it pass the emissions test.
If you're as poor as you say you are, then your money is better spent on preventative maintanance, so the car doesnt leave you stranded on the side of the road and really cost you a ton of money.
Yes I'm harsh, but that's reality.

Re: Anyone seen L98 aluminum heads in the junkyard
Lets do a reality check here. If you own something that is worth $400, are you going to sell it to someone for $100 because they're dirt poor and begging you for it? I dont think you will.

Re: Anyone seen L98 aluminum heads in the junkyard
what are the numbers on the corvette heads to look for and for instance if there are about 2 or 3 sets on a table i know only the driver side head has the casting numbers what if they were mixed up and you grab an earlier head with the 113 head would there be a problem how would you be able to grab the same heads
