Gas Prices

The station I bought gas on was $4.17 on Monday, but today was $4.75. Really need a Chevy volt (kidding) but that is one big jump.

Re: Gas Prices

Election year?
Any ideas what measure this is related to?

Edit: LA Times attributes it to "Refinery and Pipeline Mishaps." http://www.latimes.com/business/la-f...,2326954.story

Yearight.

...Ah but they "will be allowed to change to the "Winter Blend" of gas in a few days." ???

Could this have to do with the drought/corn/(therefore ethanol?) shortage they're predicting?

I'd like to hear what the pundits have to say...

I still remember .98 cents a gallon. That seems more reasonable to me. Especially since I'm finally getting this car together.

You have already take back your money 2-3 times...it is called interest.

I'm sure that you can understant that if Greece fails then all Europe including
your country will be in big trouble and this is the main reason for your "hepl".

Many people in Greece( 25% )are without jobs, some of them loosing their house and some of them commit suiside...

European Union will fail because of people like you, we are not a union. I hope
that your country will never face the same problems.

It is not a Greekk problem you only have to see Spain, portugal, Italy, Cyprus and I'm sure that more countries will follow.

This site is for cars only and it's not the place or time for you to make bitter comments.

Re: Gas Prices

What interest? The interest your country can not even pay up? They are more broke than a crack addict living under a bridge. We'll end up stuck with a couple billion dollar of loan that we loaned on the market for your sake. That money will never come back and the interest...what a joke! We havent received a penny. instead, people in greece have been moving their money to foreign accounts so they wont have to pay up. We on the other hand have gone through severe tax increases the last couple of months, **** already was expensive here but it's really getting crazy now. Have to work till our 67th, pensions are cut... and all for what? So that's OK?

Why do people loose jobs? I'll give an example, it turned out that for oranges the EU buy out $$$ was higher than you could actually get on the market. What did Greece do? They dumped their oranges and wanted EU funding to compensate. Easy pickings, no hassle.. quick money. Now, no one buys orangs from greece since they don't produce any anymore... now where did those jobs go??

I don't want to be a union with your country so that in this union we are all equal but you are more equal than others. Retirement @ 52? we 67. No one pays taxes over there? Here, 52% income, 21% sales, 48% over a new car, gas @ 9.20, a couple hundred each month for healthcare? A moderate nothing fancy home costs a whopping 250.000 euros here..over there?? You see the unity? Why should we bust our asses for bunch of ungrateful people who can only do 1 thing and that is protest.

After wwII eerything here was leveled, bombed to snot... no employment, people eating potato roots... how did they get on top? Protesting I don't think so.

The EU is a non democratic, borderline dictatorial anti constututional mess.

So what reform goalds did Greece meet? NOTHING!! No, all they want is a 2 year postponement which means that in the mean time every 4 months a ton of money has to be sent over to keep it afloat.

You have easy talking on the receiving end. I'm fed up being riped off here and seeing nothing in return. Dont you love it? going to work and knowing that the majority of the time there you're working or someone elses $$$$

The whole help package doesn't even include the target2 monetary transfer system that keeps money distributed evenly where the greek national bank has a debt to the dutch narional bank of 150 billion dollars, all we have are IOU's which are soon to be worthless

I started this only because gas price went up 75 cents in 2 days.
Didn't mean to start a European war.

Most of what you say is a lie or incorrect. The "hepl" was never going to work.
The only reason for your "help" was the fear of an economy disaster if Greece failed.

My country is trying as hard as possible to meet the unrealistic goals and that is the problem...we will never make it and you know it. You only try to earn more time in order not to cause to you more serious problems. We all know that if we fail now you will have to pay 3-4 more times the money you gave.

You are as good as your media and your politicians... In Greece taxes are 40% and the retirement comes at the age of 67 like in your country.

Right now Greece is the easy target but you will soon realise that we are just the top of the iceberg...

I will not reply to any other post of you, too much hate so there is no point...

God bless

Re: Gas Prices

Fact check!!! Germany may be the largest contributor in absolute snese but there are many more Germans than there are Dutch. Let's look at it per capita, in other words.. per tax payer. If you look at it that way Luxembourg pays the most followed by us.

What do we have to fear for in the Greece economy It's non existent, 40% of jobs are civil servants jobs, those people only cost money.

I know your country will not make it, but how did it get there in the 1st place? By cooking the books, playing dirty politics with Germany and France because the rules had to be tweaked a little for sake of Italy joining, however if Italy could join there was no reason to refuse Greece.

Taxes are 40%? That's about the LOWEST scale we have here. HELLOOOO 52%!!!!

And yes, Greece is the tip of the iceberg, there are more gold diggers there... all the southern countries, Spain, Portugal, Italy...

It's easy speaking from your side, the receiving end. Today it was announced that houses will be even harder to mortgage here because deductability will be reduced. Health care costs are on the rise, energy bills too...everything is getting more and more epensive... and for what? For you southerners. The EU international banking system called target2 is a bust also. All it has done is saddle us up with worthless i.o.u's We have 150 billion outstanding, luxembourg 110, germany some 400. Even countries like belgium (-40 and france (-100or so) owe money. In all reality there are only 4 countries paying for this whole mess, all the others either owe a bunch or are at the EU subsidizing titty sucking money (yes France!!! agricultural subsidizing for the most part)

Are the Greek people thankful for the countless billions sent their way so that civil servant wages and what not can be paid? Hell no! They depict Angela Merkel as Adolf Hitler... what a fricken outrage! Now, I don't support her politics or policy, I am anti EU ut come on now. Demanding further wat reperation payments from Germany? You are not in a position to demand anything. Hell, we should tear down the Akropolis and put it on ebay! Even better, next year when I want to enjoy a nice holiday I may drive to Greece, take my flag & pole, look for a nice little pad and claim it as mine. Payment has been sent beforehand, courtesy of me.. tax payer!

Small countries like Luxembourg and the Netherlands, Finland and big Germany.. they are footing the bill for all this BS and I can tell you, people are struggling here also. Laid offs, foreclosures and what not. Do you see people here protesting? Turning the streets into a war zone and torching everything around? No! They man up and try to make best of things.

Nothing personal but I'm kind of fed up with the "you are obliged to help us, gives me our monaaayyy" attitude. 65% of the worlds ovean going vessels are Greece operated vessels yet none of these operators pay a dime of tax. No, those stupid Germans, Luxembourgers and Dutch will work to their deaths and pay insane taxes so that we can sit in the sun all day and live the easy life! Same with those Siesta taking MFers in Spain.

It's a mentality issue, one that has been cultivated since the dawn of time. Hunters/gathererst, that's what most northern and nordic people were. We had to save up in the summer so we had food in the winter. irectly translates to healthy financial practises. In the southern countries it was nice weather most of the year, want somthing to eat? pick some fruit off a tree... sit a little in the sun, take the mid day nap... > et voila!! lazyness and crappy planning, no vision for the future, no planning ahead, no saving up for a rainy day.. live life right here right now.... ****, and if it means you re without food... go and pout, cry a little tear and demand food from those up north who saved theirs for the long winter ahead...

...that was my bedtime story! So long now.
