clanking noises

when ever i hit a bump or come to a stop very abruptly, i hear little clanking noises from the rear of the car. what bushings or other things do yall think i need to replace. im pretty sure all the suspension components (springs, shocks, struts etc.) are from the ones the car was made with. what kinds of things should i be replacing. also the car bottoms out very easily. thanks for all your help.

Most of the time it is the springs in the back or the lower control arm bushings it can also be the torque arm mount. None of these are bad or hard to upgrade.

is there a kit i could buy that would come with all the bushings i need to replace everything. all the parts on the suspension have never been replaced. the car is very loose and when you hit a bump it feels like your *** in on the ground.

go to steve spohn's web page(sponser at top of page) and get you some aftermarket lower control arms and panhard bar, this will take care of having to replace the bushings, this way you have taken care of them, and gotten better suspension components.

To davecamaro...

Sooo...

Your tag says "all stock" tough to know what this
means. Could be "all original" high mileage
which might mean " a bit clapped out"

Soo this might mean..

You have been under the car and have checked for...
- loose heat shield (above the cat)
-clearance between the exhaust system and the driveshaft
- frame crack at or near the steering assembly
- loose suspension component

and found everything in order....

Since you have eliminated the obvious...

Again "all stock" might mean "all original"
which implies leaky valve stem seals
which implies a toasted cat
which implies a disintegrating catalyst ...

Which eventually breaks up and rattles like
marbles in a coffee can...

Again without help from you
you are not going to get much of a reply...
