Paint for wonderbar and sway bars

I have wonderbar and sway bars stripped off a z28 and wanted to paint them before putting them on my RS. They have only a small bit of surface rust. What kind of paint would be best for underbody components? Perhaps POR-15.
Thanks in advance,
GC

I bought a Por 15 starter kit from a car show which came with 2 brushes, POR 15 and Metal Prep for my 1LE sway bars. First i sanded down the bars, saturated the bar with the metal prep solution for about 20 minutes, let them dry for about an hour and then painted them with the POR 15. I let them dry overnight and installed them the next morning. They turned out really good, i think just as good at getting them powder coated but a whole lot cheaper.

I chose to have mine powder coated. I would recommend sand blast and powder coat. The cost per piece is a lot less if you throw in all the parts you want to do in one shot (sway bars, end links, wonder bar, sway bar retaining brackets, etc.). I had my front lower control arms done as well. Lon

I just sanded and used regular old engine paint. It's under the car anyway.

Yes, but ...

... with the use of POR15, it'll protect from rock chips a whole lot better than just paint.

That stuff is sumptin else.

Where can you get your hands on this POR-15 ? also I read somewhere that you can do your own powdercoating at home, just need the material and an oven. The guy that wrote the article has an old oven in his shop and was powdercoating things like valve covers, air cleaners, small things that would fit in the oven. I'll try to dig it up and post it.......
