frame pulling
frame pulling
How much does it normaly cost to get your frame pulled? I got pushed off the road and the pass. side wheel is back about 1/4 of an inch. Could it just be possible that the alignment it out? If so, how can i adjust it to see if the can even be fixed like that.....then give it to a shop for final dial in...other wise the frame may need to be pulled, if so what would that cost to have done? If it turns out to be a CA, then i have a whole assmbley of struts, CA, spindels, Rotors and Caliper to go on there.

When I was rear ended in my truck, a local body shop wanted $250 ( I f I remeber correctly ) to do it. I wouldent recomend doing it though. I knew the guys there personally and they said that once you have to pull a frame it is weakened and if hit in the right spot it will crush with the rest of the car. But I never did it so I dont know for a fact.

An alignment shop might be able to tell you what exactly is wrong. Maybe you just bent the control arm! (haha, "just") When I hopped a curb years ago, on a tight turn on a cold morning- I corrected the skid, but didn't compensate for the springs loading up on the driver's side- they unloaded, kicked the back out the other way (towards the passenger side), and there I was with my wheel turned to the left. Ooops- over the curb I went.
Anyway, I bent the spindle and center link. I even bubbled the tire's sidewall, and left a black mark on the rim! (Told my dad I hit a speedbump.) The tire/alignment shop I go to was able to tell me about the bent spindle, somehow.. I still don't know how they could do that... cool stuff. (And in front of my dad, they told me that no way could I have hit a speedbump, because look, the rubber from the tire left a mark on the rim! Uh oh, busted...) They replaced the center link and idler arm for me, and was able to "just barely get the car to align". I later replaced that spindle with one from a parts car I had.

yeah i think i did, i just wish someone around here would be willing to put it up on the lift and tell me EXCATLY what i need before i decided to do the word.....man it would be great if i ****ed up the spindel or something....i have 2 spare pass front ends
...and one spare driver side..gotta love having friends in which her father is a car guy and has connections....

Depends on how much you are willing to do yourself...
If your "up" to it
Disassemble the side you banged...
a long rod should easily pass through the a- arm
bushing holes and the a-arm brackets on the
k-member.
The holes are about 7/16 or some such
A close look at the brackets and a-arm compared to the other
side will tell the tale.
If this is good then we can take a look at your
spindles. Mine are "out" at the moment and are "good"
so I could give you some measurements...
If you look at your "Helms" you will find some frame
alignment measurements that will help if you think
that the "bang" was enough to move the k-member
