rear-end identification

hey guys i was wonderin if there is a place i can go to identify my rear? the numbers are 6HJ-C-184-1 or 6HJ-0-184-1

It's probably a 10-bolt 3.23 open

If you need to know more than that, then have you changed the fluid lately? If not, it needs it. Look at it (the only sure way of knowing what's in it anyway) while you're draining the old fluid.

i was trying to figure out if its a 28 spline or not cause i wunt to get a slp posi for it so i have it as a backup for my dieing 9-bolt

No way to know the splines; 89 was the changeover year, so it could be either. Definitely take off the cover and look if that's what you want to know about it.
