should i get springs before i install my KYBs?

i just got my GR2 struts and shocks from KYB in the mail and i wondering if i should go ahead and get springs or not. how hard would it be to change the springs? im pretty sure i can change the struts but maybe not the front springs i dont know really. i know i can do the back shocks and springs no problem but i may have to pay somebody to do the front. how much difference will i notice with new springs?

Do you want to lower the car? If so, I recommend Eibachs. If you want stock, I think TRW makes stock replacements. Do a search on springs and you'll get a ton of info. Check the board out over the past coulpe of days, too. Lots of guys, including myself, are changing springs lately.

Fronts aren't too hard, again do a search. I have pics with step by step instructions on how to do it, and some helpful hints. Lookie here:

the front is what i didnt know if i could do or not...do i just need a compressor? autozone rents them out i could just do that. i know i can do the back easy im not worried about that because ive had them out before. i dont mind lowering it about an inch i dont think it will make much difference i figure the stock springs are toast tho. car rides so horrible now with the busted struts and shocks and the bad tires

Yeah, you need an internal spring compressor. Flip thru the Haynes Firebird (or Camaro) manual; the procedure's in there.
