Am I getting ripped off?

The local car shop in town just quoted me $260 to install new shocks struts and lowering springs. This seems pretty high for just labor or is it about right? Any comments are welcome.

I think that's fairly reasonable. Most shops charge about $50-60 per hour for labor, so that's about 5 hrs to do it. Not too far off, IMO.

that's a fair price I think, though I'd do the work myself....it's not really that difficult. I changed all of that stuff myself, it's not really difficult at all.

Well thanks for the replies. I think I will just invite a couple of my buddies over and see if we cant tackle it in an evening. THe only reason that I planned on taking it to a shop in the first place is because I read on the boards here that you need a front end alignment right after it's done. But I opnly live a mile from the shop anyways. Thanks again!

I only said it was a fair price. I never said "Have them do it for you."

With that said, after looking at Chris' site, you can also look at my rebuild page here:

I'm not done yet, though. STILL waiting on those ES front coil spring isolators...I just put up some new pics of parts that are going in but I need to do some descriptions though. Gotta go fix the wife's Honda...starter just went out I think.

And for the record, "Do it yourself!!"
