Jegster "Frame Ties" subframe connectors

Installed these yesterday. Took about 2.5 hours once I got the car up on ramps. I took pictures during the install. See my website for the pics and additional installation commentary.
Overall, they were easy to install. No complaints! Haven't had a chance to really test them out yet.

Jegsters SFC

Thanks for your post. I am returning my Chassis Engineering SFC's to get the Jegsters. I think a bolt in is a good start. The benefits can be felt immediately and the welding can be done when the right deal if found. My quotes were like $200.00 and the part is only $85. I cannot justify that so I think a bolt in is the way to go. Great idea on the ramp by the way!

They bolted right in with only minor "problems" that were easily solved. The "wing" on the pax side didn't quite fit up against the floor, but a longer bolt was used to pull it up tight, then the supplied hardware was installed and the longer bolt removed & replaced with the supplied parts. You do have to pull up the carpet, but that's easy. I forgot to mention that on my website... duh. I'll have to fix that. All you do is remove a couple of screws on the kick panel, remove around a half-dozen screws on the threshold strip, and pull off those pieces. The carpet then lifts up. I put a piece of 2x4 under the carpet to hold it up away from the drill bit when it came up thru the floor. Then you just put a washer on the bolt, drop the bolt into the hole(s) you drilled, and then put a lock washer and nut on the bolt and snug everything up. The put the carpet back down, replace the threshold and kick panel, and it's done.

those sfc are better than nothing but they are pretty lame. They are not true sfc's. Check out Alstons to see real camaro/firechicken sfc's.

I'd weld them up as soon as you get the chance. I've heard plenty of stories of elongated holes from people who just went the bolt route. If you buy bolt-ins, have them welded in as well.

I've also read on these boards that several guys have run these for years with no bolt-hole elongation. I'll keep an eye on them until I get a new exhaust system, then I'll get them welded in at the same time the exhaust is done!

88 Drop top mentions the Alston SFC. How about giving us some photos or supplier information on those. I went out and did a web search and came up empty handed.

I too have the Alston's in my car(welded). Now after seeig this post about the Jegsters I too am thinking of putting a set in my car along with the Alston's.Anyone have a reason why this would be a bad idea..besides excess weight, which for the purpose of strength I don't mind.I also have a S&W 8 pt cage in the car so this may just be overkill, but any help is good in our flexi flyers..right?Two has to be better (stronger) than one?!?!
