Unusual wear
Unusual wear
My inside right brake caliper has worn down abnormally quick. It's the only one that has worn down as much as it has and it's also worn unevenly, where the lower part of it has worn more than the upper. What's the deal with this? Could it just be out of alignment?
The caliper has four holes in it.
The holes are lined with four o-rings.
The caliper "floats" on these four orings
that is it can move easily left to right
Old calipers will have several problems
the spacer or pin will rust
the orings will deteriorate
The caliper will get "stuck" on
the spindle ( should be more than .005 in
clearance between the spindle ears
and the caliper
