Custom Subframe connectors.

OK, I know everyone has sfc's and I know they are all good but a freind of mine is making his own. He said he would make me a pair for my thirdgen for 150. They are 2 bars, no 3 point or anything lke that. They are heavier than aftermarket ones too. My question is, will his work just as good as the aftermarket ones? I mean, as long as you connect the front to the back, they should work no?

thats pretty much it, i don't think he need to make them heavier than you can buy, i used 1.5 x 2 x .187 for the main rail and 1 x 2 for a secondary inner rail, plus i made a brace for the trans tunnel and drive shaft loop. i spent 30 dollars on enough material to make 2 sets, 4 if i made them like most of them are and it took me 5 hours or so to get it done.
