BF Goodwrench Radial T/A's...white letters out or not?

Gettin some 235 60/15's to put a little more meat on the ground. But normaly i mount my tires black wall out. Should i do these the same or go with the white letters out? Lookin for some opinions. Also...these should be a pretty good tire for basic all around driving right? I think for $370 for a complete set its a pretty good deal. Thanks again....

I have white letters out on my car..personally I like the way it looks. As for price I paid $65 a piece for my 235 60/15's (up front)and $68 a piece for 255 60/15's (out back)...that also included mounting and balancing. For all around driving I think they are decent. I've never driven my car in the rain or snow so I cant tell you about wet or snow traction
hope this helps

I have the white letters showing. They aren't very good in the rain though.

I have the 235/60-15 TA's on my 86 TA,Black Wall out.I think it just looks better.Dry traction and wear,I dont think you can beat them for a "Daily Driver".Wet driving on the other hand takes a little more care.I have close to 18,000 on mine now and overall very happy. Costco had the best deal out here.I think you will be very happy with them

White letters out!! I love that look! I have BFG Radial T/A's on my car, P225/60r15 front, P275/60r15 rear, both with white letters out. I have a pic, but it's of my rusted quarter panel... wheels/tires still look good though.

How about around $230 for a complete set including shipping? Go to tirerack.com and you'll be amazed at the prices.

There's a link for those size tires

radial T/A's suck in the rain,
If your looking for traction off the line, heat them up. lowering tire pressure also help on these.

they are quiet though, I can lay 2 gears of rubber and the tires don't make a sound. hard rubber.

btw, white letters out look the best

I say dont show the white letters. The biggest reason I say that is cause if you show the white letters it makes the tires stand out more. If the tires stand out more that makes the car look higher off the ground. It will draw to much attention to the wheel gap. So I'd leave the letters in and also keep teh tires clean and shiny. That makes a car look lower also.

Now rev I can agree with that statement about keepin the tires clean and givin it a "lowered look". Really looks good when the wheel wells are black and the tires just match in with it.

Next thing I know, you'll be making fun of my air shocks!

(Yes, I do have them, since '94. Rear tires are P275/60r15 on 15x8 wheels, without air shocks, they scrap the outer wheel well lip. And I love the look. )

I think it really depends on the color of your car. For instance, white letters out on the tires of a white car would look great. The tires would accent the paint, so to say.

Drop a PM to PopaPork. He will tell you all about those tires. He used to have them and i believe he hated them. Dont remember why. He also has had his tires turned in and out so many times, I no longer know what to look for when I look at his car.

I will send him a link to this Thread.

Didn't the earlier cars come with the raised white lettering? The 82-84s? That is why I mounted mine with the letters showing. I have recently been thinking about turning them around though cause as Rev said...it does draw attention to the wheel gap. But then again I have also been thinking about getting some snypers or some polished Irocs in 17" and actually putting some decent rubber on my car.

Personally, black wall tires look bland.

I'm sitting here look at two side pics of my car, one with my old black wall tires and the other with my newer white lettered tires.

I can't see how blackwall tires make your car look lower..
where did that come from anyway!?

The white lettering matches my (somewhat) shiny rims.
the rims and tires stick out while the rest of the car is a dark color.

Looks great.

basically... i think that if you have a nice black wheel well and have nice clean all black tires, it makes it harder for the eye to detect a gap inbetween the wheel well and the top of the tire, thus creating the illusion of a "lowered look". I hope that made sense! But anyways...i got mine mounted about three days ago and they look good. Black out. I wish i had a digi camera so i could take a pic. But i think these tires will be just fine with my driving habits.
