There is a slight difference in the two set-ups.
The Baer Track kit uses 13" rotors. Bigger is better. You'll need to use 17" wheels with the Track kit. Baer also offers what they call the Sport kit. It's the same as the Track kit only it uses 12" rotors. Baer simply machines down the 13" rotors to 12". The extra cost covers the machining. The Baer kits also offset the front wheels by about 0.5".
The 1LE set-up uses 12" (close enough to it anyway) rotors and since it is a factory GM system, there's no changes to any wheel spacing, etc....
Both set-ups use aluminum dual piston PBR calipers.
Either set-up will perform extremely well and will be a huge improvement over the standard factory brakes. It's really a question of what type of driving you plan to use your car for and how much you're willing to spend.

Yeah, someone else has posted in another thread that he noticed his front wheels are offset with the 1LE brakes. So apparently it's the same for both set-ups. It must have something to do with the rotors since most people are just machining their regular spindles to accept the 1LE brakes.

I believe that the rotors offset the wheels about .25" each wheel for the total of .5o " that Bret mentioned.
What I didn't like about the Baer kit was rotor and parts availability. My calipers are $35 for NEW ones (with a $30 core) and rotors can be purchased anywhere. I don't think that is possoble with the Baer kit. I am not hardcore enough to negate that.

The BAER system also uses modified stock spindles. I adapted the Track system onto a set of drop spindles and had to make the same mods the 1LE conversion guys had to do. The BAER setup also moves the wheels out the same amount that the 1LE does.
The only thing I am not thrilled about with the Track setup is that the pads need to be heated up. I have been surprised several times when on my way to work in the morning. Being tired and having to either make sure the pads are heated or increase my stopping distance is a chore some mornings. When they are warm though...
I have yet to drive a 1LE car. Perhaps I can convince a friend of mine that recently did the swap to trade cars... hmm.

You might not notice much of a difference on mine though since with my pads I've found that they need to be warmed up as well. Its like driving without power assist when they're cold, that and they dust like MAD.
But hey, I'd love to switch for a bit, if you could deal with the lack of power

All I can say is that race cars have the same characteristics in their brakes (and tires) - they are OK cold, but perform at a very high level when hot (operating temperature). So we are in good company.
I don't think a 1LE car would feel much different than the Baer kit, but it would not stop as well (Baer quotes 105ft 60-0mph with their Track Kit, the 1LE is 110-115ft).
