bounce the front end while sitting still and see if it does it. if so look at the control arm bushings and struts. might want to spray the back of the pads with anti noise stuff

Start eliminating things... anything that rotates. Wheel bearings, rotors, brake pads, calipers, etc. Its really not that hard to pull the wheel and inspect whats happening.

ede, im thinking this is a spinning part making my squeak. andy, its a 91 bird. oh yeah...i have an idea....tell me this, how should your pads line up on the rotor? my mechanic changed mine without asking first (he is a family friend) when he changed my water pump. i checked them out and they stick out over the edge of the rotor a little. maybe the squeak is the hangover rubbing the side of the rotor? or is it supposed to be like that?

thanks guys

If you are referring the "Wear Sensor" on the pads, no they are not supposed to contact the rotor. It's time to replace the pads.

no, not the wear sensors, lon, the actual pad isnt completely on the rotor--it hangs over the side a little and because of wear, there is a lip dug in the pad that hangs over the side of teh rotor.

I doubt that is the source fo the noise. But you can take out the pads and send them on a belt sander to remove that ridge. It will also take any glaze off the pads from overheating. Warpage of the rotors may also be the source of the noise.
