tires for stock rims?

Would anyone be able to tell me how wide stock rims on an 85 z28 would be? I'm trying to figure out what size tires I should put on my rims. I'm thinking p235/60 r15's on the back and p215/65's in the front. i'd like to put the widest possible in back while staying with the stock rims and not having to make any additional clearance for the tires. I'm also not getting anything too expensive, just BFG Radial T/A'S.

85 z's only came with 15" rims?...Didnt they come with 16" rims? well if your Z atcually came with 15" rims then its probably 15"x7" rims. Are you going to be drag racing? or taking turns? if your gonna be drag racing you can fit 235's on the back but if your gonna be taking turns thats gonna roll way to much.

85 Z with 15 inch rims are 15 x 7. Most all rims (that I have seen) have the sizing stamped on the back of the rim.

Size Matters

For the 15X7", the standard tire is 215/65/15
Optional is 235/60/15.
Any should work fine.

i have seen 295's stuffed under there, but i don't recomend that

right now i have 235/60/r15's on all 4 corners, it is descent for handling even though someone said earlier it wasn't but with my suspension i need a bit of give in my tires. i had alot of luck of 225/60's on my car in the past you might try to find a set of those they fit very nicely.
