anyone ever install a ford 9 inch
has anyone in here ever put a ford 9 inch in there third gen?? I have heard that you have to get a dif or custom drive shaft and that the stock one won't work. if anyone has any info on this (not narrowed, stock width) upgrade I would be thankful.

Yes,the Moser 9" is a very good piece of kit.It comes with axles which will handle 800hp.You will need a custom made driveshaft and brackets for the swaybar and spacers for the lca's.It's not quite the "bolt on" they make out,but not far off and definately a good upgrade.
I went with a Currie unit and it was a direct bolt in. I dont its necessary to cut anything, but then again I had everything cut for the 6 speed anyway. I havent been on their site in awhile, but they should still have it available. Hope this helped

I bought the moser rear. Its a great rear end and bolts right in. All that you need to buy is 18 nuts, gear fluid and you need to get a new u-joint for the driveshaft. I picked up the u-joint for like 30 bux. When you take off the old u-joint from the driveshaft, you have to heat it up with a torch. There is nylon holding it in. It takes a while but it will melt and ooze out. The driveshaft will fit fine.
