line locks
I've been looking at putting a line lock on my car, but I've read a few places that the solenoid constantly pulls power from the battery? My question is can I put a switch on the main power to the solenoid, like an "arming" switch? Or would my brakes not work right when the switch was off? I know that I obviously will have the one switch that would hold the brakes locked, obviously... Any input is appreciated.

I dont have a line lock, but I plan on getting one. How can the solenoid be powered up if the button is not pushed? Doesnt seem possible to me unless the switch malfunctions or the person who installed the thing didnt know what they were doing. If the solenoid is powered, its holding brake pressure, making the front brakes hold pressure. I'd think if the solenoid was on at all times, you'd definately notice something wrong.

Just like Ede said, mine has a button used to activate the solinoid. If I remember correctly though the switch and light are activated by means of ground instead of power flowing through the switch then to the light and solinoid. All I know is mines been in all summer, never had battery problems, and never had solinoid problems.
