you mean the kind that go in coil springs for ride control or the kind that go in the dash/steering wheel for secondary restraint systems?

They are things that you do not want to put on your Camaro.

air bags can be the ones they are used instead of shocks/sturs..
they have a piston istead and used compressed air to rise and lower the car..

the other type of airbags are kinda like a ballon that goes inside the spring(s) to help aide in traction...

drag racers use they mostly in their rear right spring to help to the the initial load on the torque from the engine to keep the rear end more stable and level...

Because they were relatively cheap, I put them in all four corners inside my springs. For the rear I can preload the springs to aid in traction. For the front, I can finally fit a jack underneath w/o interference from the air dam. I use a bit of air in the rears at all time to level the car. I have Jamex springs that are known to have the rear of the car lower than the front. I thought that they may make the car handle smoother using the air bag as a dampener, but it actually make the ride stiffer with greater pressure.

Front and rears were $80. You could get a compressor set up for it also, but I would save your money and just use the line and schrader valves that come with it.

You could go with a total air suspension system. Most lux. cars these days do not have coil springs, rather full air bag suspenson(Lincoln Town Car has these I know for sure) You want these if you want your ride to handle like a lux car, not a race car.
