Proportioning Valve

Just a couple questions, what does that nut with the rubber piece in it in the end do? And what is the difference between the valve for the all wheel disc and the rear drum brakes?

Mine is leaking from that little rubber piece in the front and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement because I have all wheel disc.

not sure about the rubber piece. for 4x disc they use a flat sided machined alumninum PV the drum/disc cars used a round cast looking PV, sometime in the late 80s all cars used the machined looking one, that's what you need. gm parts ought to be able to hook you up with no problems, or any salvage yard.

Dealership doesn't carry it anymore which sucked, and there is a salvage yard Cambird which the name speaks for itself and they said they have some, but it's hard to find because they said I need the valve for rear disc and they have over 500 F-bodies to sort through. Hopefully I get one by Monday. I'm sick of seeing the car sit.

I priced the combination valve at the dealer at 97.00. they told me they could order it.That is the only parts on my brakes that is not new. My brakes dont work.Theres no air in the lines. Ive replaced the booster mastercylinder front rotors pads calipers
rear calipers rotors brake cables rear pads and my car will stop
on a dollar.The peddle is firm but in a panic stop the brakes wont lock up and no one has any suggestions.

Order a new valve from here;
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/index.c...TOKEN=43475709

You may find their prices more reasonable.
