Why not? SBC and BBC use the same location for the engine mounts. There's nothing else engine related to the crossmember.

I have the PA k-member with a BBC and it made the swap WAY easier. All the problems that others have mentioned with k-member intereference disappear completely.

I hope this isn't off topic, but......

That light weight k member from Thunder Racing; think its worth the price and work to get the weight savings?

That $400 one listed on Thunder Racing is just for the k member. It doesn't include motor mounts (front motor plate required). It doesn't include spring pirches (coil over kit required).

Saving weight depends on your needs. My car is still nose heavy. For me, spending that kind of money is worth it however I still haven't bought the front end kit. I still use the complete factory front end except for V6 front springs and Koni SPA1 struts.

one other thing for you guys considering this

the chromoly version is only three pounds lighter than the mild steel version (3lbs= $100 plus more in price)

just wanted to let you know..

just doesn't seem worth the extra c note.

I just need the money.
k-member $399 (I don't need the motor mounts or spring pirches
a-arms with adjustable rod ends $395
Coil over kit $289

Total cost for the kit, $1083 US. Current exchange rate = $1709 Canadian. Add on taxes, shipping and brokerage fees and I should be able to get everything in my hands for about $2000 Canadian. Just to shave about 100 pounds off the front of the car just isn't worth it. I can spend a little more than that for some nice aluminum heads and get better performance results.

As nice as it is and I'd like to have the kit some day, it's just not in my budget for a while.

It's certainly not cheap! While $2k might seem steep for $100lbs, I found that the extra room it gained my with the big block installation is really what made it worth every penny!! Add to that the ability to use custom large-tube headers and it was a no-brainer.

Definately not for everyone, but the PA k-members ARE very nice pieces.

PA Racing part # 1197 MMSP...stock a arms, springs, and motor mounts will bolt right up. BTW, this is mild steel, I don't think they make a chromemoly version.

I ordered mine from Thunderracing, should be here soon.

I keep looking at this setup and wondering if i should go for this set up or not....granted its A LOT of money but SOME things you just cant put a price on. This setup will take "shave" a few pounds off my car right? Are there any other advantages to this set up vs. stock k-member/stock lower control arms? Last..how STRONG is this set up vs. stock components? Ive heard the chromoly is prone to cracking/breaking...any truth to that? Basically my main question is are these setups just as strong as the stock setup??

Later..
