Installing front struts/shocks

Is it worth saving the money and putting my KYB struts on myself...or should I have it done... is it really that hard? i know the rear ones arent to difficult...but not sure about the struts

if anyone has any suggestions....please help

only problem i've ever had or heard of with struts is getting the bolts out. they're splined under the head and rust in place pretty good. i put the nut back on to protect the end of the bolt and beat the hell out of it with a BFH and after it pops out a little use a punch to drive it on out. you may still trash the bolts so be prepared to buy new ones.

well it all depends on how much you could get it done for...

but i rather do it myself and spend a day having fun

just make sure you properly support the car off the ground and use the jack to control the movement of the arm... dont wont to loose any springs

Click the link in my sig, check it out and see if you're up to doing what I did...if so, do it yourself and save $$$$ for more mods!!

Definately change them yourself. However, do have the front end aligned afterward. The strut bolt holes at the bottom can allow quite a bit of movement, and having fresh struts will change the geometry.

yea do it yourself. you learn more that way. the 2 lower bolts are tough. i had to use my lug wrench t-bar to have enough leverage. other than that it was pretty easy. don't forget to chech the strut plate bearing for damage while you have the strut out and replace if necessary
