Info regarding ES Motor Mounts for people looking into buying.
I put a set of ES ones in 2 years ago and it raised my motor about an inch causing me not to be able to run a STB anymore because it would hit my hood. I said WTF. Others said my MM were worn out back. Fast forward 2 years. i put on a SuperRam intake and the hood of my firebird wouldnt close without some pushing. I'm like F this So i went out and got a set of stock replacements from AutoZone and compared the MM when i took them off. To my surprise the ES ones were 3/4 higher on the little bars that come off the side. Thie was side by side comparing. i put in the stock ones and wham. My motor fell another inch and I was able to shut the hood now AND run my STB. Just wanted to let a few people know. Thinking about getting them.

I have them, not installed yet, and I have an LT4 which sits about 1-2" lower than my TPI setup did so I think I should be fine.

I've got the tranny mount too and again, no problems even with the 1/8" backing plate in there. Not to say you guys are AFU...just saying that maybe it's just that way on a particular car.

I am running the ES poly mounts, and, heck, with a little trimming of the hood braces and a few other things, I am fitting a Holley Stealth Ram under a Formula hood! No problems here...

I installed the ES motor mounts. My I really couldnt compare how my motor sits compared to before because i have a LT1 intake on now. overall it looks way lower than the ol' TPI
wait a minute - JMatlock88 - you saying the Stealthram will fit under a bird hood? - I thought it would only fit under a camaro hood. I hope that I'm not getting my hopes up...That would really help me to get my injection back. Being able to buy the Stealthram first, not wait on the hood, then it...Please help!

Yep! Just search for my post called "project afr stealthram..." If you want, I may be able to modify the stealthram for you. You will need to cut out your braces on your formula hood. I'm not sure about the other bird hoods. -Matlock
JMatlock88 - I've got my stock GTA hod on it for now. I intend on getting the WS-6 Ram Air, but wasn't sure if I could get the inj. back on first, or if I was gonna have to have the hood first. I have a friend that owns a machine shop, so if I decide to buy it and cut it, I'll take it there. - thanks for the help. - I'm not a big fan of cutting a new intake though, but I guess time will tell. $500 for injection vs. $1100 for injection and hood...

I dont think you'll regret cutting on the intake. It wont hurt anything as long as you keep adequate thickness. Your machine shop friend will make some recomendations as to what will hold up to the loadings. It will very much improve the looks as I stated earlier. I am fairly disappointed in the aftermarket bird hood options, so I opted to stay with my Formula hood. If there are any questions I can answer, dont hesitate to ask! -Matlock
