disc brake swap

I am doing a rear drum brake to disc brake swap. Does anyone know if I need to swap out the proportioning valve?

Yes you will need the valve from a disc rear. other than that your all set.

By the way...Welcome to the boards! Lots of good info here, and alot of knowledgeable people too. THe best bet to save any problems is to read Brad's thread at the begining of the Appearance and Detailing forum. This will make everything move smoothly for you. Again welcome. And enjoy! Here is the link for you. It's just the rules of the board. https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=143760

When I put my 9 bolt in the car, I used the stock PV from my 10 bolt drum rear and they work great.

This isn't really a TPI question, but since I"m not a moderator, I don't really care..

Which disc brakes are you swapping too? I swapped to the early style cast iron brakes and I was rather dissapointed. I went from decent drum brakes w/ a functional parking brake, to a marginal set of discs w/ a non-funtioning parking brake. Not to mention, despite the lack of braking ablility from the rear, I now have to clean all four rims, instead of just the front I would say that unless your installing the newer aluminum PBR brakes, don't waste your time.

To answer your question though, use the disc brake prop valve.
