I want to replace the front a arms bushings on my Iroc,but want to do it myself.What tool can I buy to do it?Anyone did their own.I dont want to bring it to someone because for the money Icould buy a tool and do it myself.Thanks

 

well at work we used a air chisel on mine and knocked them out pretty easy. dunno how hard it would have been if we didnt have air tools.

 

i use an air chisle to remove and a press to install, pretty easy job

 

Use a torch to get them out- just burn up the rubber (outside of garage ).

Getting new ones back in is a whole nother deal. I've seen professionals fight getting new urethane bushings into arms for 3 hours on a press and ruin a few sets in the process- then again others go in fairly easily.

 

you can drill the rubber out and use ahammer , chisle and punch to get the rest out. i used a vise to press the new bushings in with a 2" pipe nipple. the ball joints need a hydraulic press tho.

I dont have the resources to air hammer them out.Any more suggestions.Thanks for the replys everyone.Can anyone direct me where i could get a set of Moog ball joints,and some new bushing maybe poly.Thanks

On another note The a arms Im putting in are replacing a complete Art morrison Coil over kit with Koni Struts.Im returning the car back to stock and sold almost all my aftermarket parts to help pay off some bills for my up comming wedding and my new apartment.If anyone is interested email me Im going to try to put up pics tomorrow on my web site.Kit has less than 20 miles on it and in imaculate condition.Thanks
