Danger to anyone considering SFC's
Anyone considering SFC's with some frame damage, read this.
A few years ago, I was rearended by some kid playing with his radio.
There was some frame damage, not enough that you can tell at first glance but I know that it's there. I bought Spohn SFC's, which were very high quality pieces, but because of the frame damage cost me $500 to get installed "right". They had to bend the frame and the SFC's to fit, and was a disaster.
If you have frame damage, get custom made SFC's. The Spohn ones were great, but they just did not fit the contour of my twisted framerails.
Note: Both the welder and I are perfectionists, so they could have been welded in a lot cheaper, but would not have been as effective. Also, I cannot say enough good things about the Spohn products, they work great, it just cost me an arm and a leg to get installed.

Seems to me that rather than micky mousing the rear sub-frame and the SFC'c to fit it would have been better to just have fixed the rear sub-frame correctly in the first place, isn't that what auto insurance is for? That way you don't have a car that is permentantly out of wack by welding it without fixing the frame damage and screwing with the SFC'c to make them work which compromises the structures geometry...

Not to flame you, but I agree with the above posts. Why install good SFCs on a messed up car and then complain about the fit? The car is the problem, not the SFCs..
Why not put an LS1 in a Vega?
You can't polish a turd.

Yea I'd suggest getting the sub frame fixed first also. Cause if hte sub frame is bent or kinked then the car wont handle as good, some parts may not bolt up, or it could even cause bigger problems. Why would you want to forever make your car have a bad sub frame?

no, you misunderstand.
The car has been fixed the best it can be. The whole car is bent out of whack just a LITTLE bit, which makes the SFC's not fit right. The Spohn pieces are great, don't get me wrong, but with the slight bend in the unibody they do not go in perfect.
All I'm saying is that if you know your car has been in a wreck and has some damage to the unibody/framerails, you will probably save money by getting custom made pieces. I'm not complaining about the fit, I'm just trying to help other people.
Just to make sure you understand, I'm not complainging about anything. My car has SLIGHT subframe damage, and has been repaired the best it can be. It will never be able to be perfect again. That's why they would not fit. I am not complaining about the subframe connectors.
Did I say that I am not complaining enough?
